Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2010
This recipe is regular favorite in our house, but I gave it four stars because it can be kind of bland unless you add some herbs and spices like other reviewers have commented. I made all the changes that other reviewers suggested, except that I also add a pinch of thyme to the flour/milk/onion mix. Thyme is one of the ingredients in another (not from scratch) pot pie recipe that I occasionally use. It really makes a big difference, but be careful. If you add too much it can overpower the entire dish.

Swamp Frog

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2010
I made this for our Halloween party last night and it was a big hit. We made three batches. Based on other reviewer's suggestions, we substituted 80 proof vodka for the grain alcohol and added rainbow sherbert. It was kind of like an alcoholic creamsicle. I don't always like sweet drinks, but it was a nice treat. It was also potent, so I warned my guests to watch out.

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2010
My husband made this recipe and it was great. He didn't have time to marinade the fish, so he just basted it right before throwing it on the grill. It had a perfect balance of flavor. He did have to cook the fish an additional 6 or 7 minutes, but overall it took very little time and was delicious. We are definitely keeping this recipe for next time.

Pasta and Salmon Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2007
I loved this pasta! It was good and easy to make. I did make several substitutions though. I used angel hair pasta, instead of the tri-colored pasta assortment (honestly, I don't even know what kind of pasta that is); I used mixed vegetables, instead of peas; I used baked salmon, instead of smoked; and I did not include the shrimp. It was still fantastic. Besides the baking time for the fish, this recipe took 5-10 minutes to make. Yum.
