I'm single now and with that freedom came a new-found desire to bake, cook, create and dabble in catering!

I love making desserts, since I have a sweet tooth, but enjoy experimenting with main dishes and veggies too.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The holiday traditions are the best, passed from my grandmother on down- family recipes for stuffing on Thanksgiving, certain cookies baked for Christmas, peanut butter eggs for Easter!
My cooking triumphs
I catered the rehearsal dinner for my daughter's wedding and served a French dinner for 40. I couldn't have done it without haven gone through cooking an Irish buffet for 50 a few years ago- great learning experience!
My cooking tragedies
So far, burned cookies and lopsided cakes are all I've experienced! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the future!

Classic Tiramisu
I made this for Valentine's Day and it turned out amazing! Everyone loved it and I will definitely make it again. A wonderful "show off" kind of dessert! A little time consuming, but so worth the effort!

Key Lime Pie I
Loved this! I made it for my dad, who's a huge pie eater and he thought it was terrific! We aren't big on graham cracker crusts, though, so I used a homemade pastry pie shell I prebaked. I used real key limes, and the flavor was excellent! Next time, I may try just using lemons and see how good that turns out.

Hawaiian Chicken Salad
A keeper! You definitely want to make it ahead and serve it chilled. It's best when the flavors have had a chance to blend. My only recommendation is to use fresh chicken, not the canned kind. I baked skinless breasts and shredded/cut them, and the flavor was wonderful. I made it for a Hawaiian-themed party and served it in a hollowed out pineapple- beautiful! Everyone loved it!
