Nanna's Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
I made this bread because I had buttermilk I wanted to use up lol. I loved the bread...I substituted 1/2 c applesause for the oil to try to make it a little more healthy. It still came out great (a beautiful loaf) but was a little chewy because of the substitution I think.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2005
This recipe is awesome! I added the chicken breasts uncooked as previous reviewer suggested and because I love cilantro, doubled the quantity. Store bought chips are also the way to go. So easy, and so delicious! I will definitely make this again!!

Ronaldo's Beef Carnitas

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2005
I made this recipe in the crockpot. You should anticipate longer than 4.5 hours cooking time as mine took around 6-7 hours. YUMMY!!

Coconut Oatmeal Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2005
I think this is as close as it gets to a perfect cookie!! Totally awesome recipe. My cookies came out flat on the first run, so I tried the second batch in the oven after the dough had been refrigerated, still flat but less so. On the third run, I rolled them in sugar, and these came out fine. I think the biggest problem is that I didn't have shortening and used butter in place. Excellent and very decadent!!

Spicy Fisherman's Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2006
This recipe is awesome! I'm not much of a fish fan; I used cod and talapia. I also used cayenne pepper (1/4 to 1/2 t) which really spiced it up! I found out at the last minute that I didn't have any cream, so I mixed in a can of cream of celery soup after browning the onions, and it was just awesome! We will make this recipe again and again!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2012
I had never made a pot pie from scratch before...this recipe is easy to follow and the results were enjoyed by my entire family, including my picky son! I like a little bit more sauce so the second time around I increased that portion of the recipe. So good!

Slow Cooker Cheesy Chicken and Tortillas

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2012
I thought it was kind of weird to put flour tortilla pieces into the chicken and then serve over rice. I was wrong, it tasted very good and was something the whole family enjoyed (but who wouldn't love something with FOUR CUPS of cheese). I made no adjustments to the recipe.

Texas BBQ Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2011
I wished I had read the reviews first and made alterations. The sauce is indeed to watery, so omit the water, but the color was also not appealing...tasted fabulous though! I was looking for a darker color. Mixed with white rice, it looks a little bland. Three stars on presentation, four starts on taste.

Dad's Hamburger Gravy

Excellent as a quick mean, and tastes very much to me like a sausage gravy...must be the sage. I would make this anytime for a quick meal!

Delicious Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2005
good bread, but if you are a high altitude resident you'll need to add more flour or less water. The top of my bread was still somewhat doughy.

Buttermilk Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
I really loved the rolls that came out, but I only have one addition to add. I live in a high altitude state, and idk maybe it's the altitude but at 17 minutes the gooey mixture was burning and the rolls were definitely done. I will try this again with a shorter cooking time, but they were still yummy, even nearly burned!

Beer Roasted Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2005
Actually, I was a bit disappointed. I love lime...I mean, LOVE lime. The chicken wasn't all that lime-y and was quite bland. I followed the recipes exactly, but think that this could use more spice. The beer did make the chicken very moist and tender though.
