Married 44 years to the most wonderful man. We have 5 children, 15 grands and 6 greats. Have lived around world ( we were Air Force 26 yrs.) When you cook for 6-8 every day it is hard to come up with different things and keep it healthy and cost down. Potatoe Salad, bake beans(southern style), deviled eggs, fajitas, & chocolate dipped nut cookies. I have won several bake bean contest, no money, just a little trophy and braging rights. When ever we have a get to gether, I don't get to sign up what I will bring ,usually someone has already put me down for bake beans or potatoe salad. Even thought I make cookie baskets and wedding cakes, the one thing I can NEVER get right ( althought it seems every one else can ) are sugar cookies. I have tried ever recipe that I can find, but to no avail > don't know why they just won't come out right . Cold or room temp. nothing works , so on that cookie it is slice and bake for me. I do make my own icing , and pretty them up.
