Would love to be able to stand in the kitchen and cook all day, but alas, have some physical problems that keep me from doing that. Love to explore cookbooks and seed catalogs and good books. Spend alot of time dealing with the physical limitations, but learning all the time. Like to draw and want to learn watercoloring. Enjoy the outdoors, rain or shine, but not much of a crowd person. Basically, pretty normal...
My favorite things to cook
Bread! Soup! Dessert! I am learning how to cook more meals with less meat and starting to explore flat breads and Asian cooking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
No real traditions, but my family owns some pizza parlors. My mom had Celiac Disease and so I learned to cook without gluten. Not a favorite tradition, but a good one is that through tough times have learned how to create meals on a very meager budget, a mixed blessing for sure, time intensive but healthier than pre-packaged meals.
My cooking triumphs
Finally made some decent fudge!
My cooking tragedies
One time I made some unnamed casserole and when I set it on the table we all looked at it and thought, yuk! But it was dinner, so we closed our eyes and ate it. It was actually pretty good, but so ugly that I never made it again.
