Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2012
It doesn't get any easier or more delicious. I used a 4lb pork butt in a bit over half of a 2l bottle of root beer. Cooked 7 hours on low......and it just almost pulled itself, :) Added Sweet Baby Ray's Honey BBQ sauce and cooked it for about another 1 1/2 hrs(from cold, probably 1 hr if it were still warm). Served along homemade potato salad and pinto beans and birthday cake, :).

Simple Time Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2009
Just didn't do it for me at all. The cheese floated on top of the mayo/butter and actually floated off a couple of the chops all together. Needs more flavor too. I used the recipe as is, no changes.

Slow Cooker Pizza

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2008
Generally good, however slow-cooking not practical for me. I work longer than 4hrs and I sleep longer than 4hrs. I did turn it into a casserole though. Mixed 1/2 the ground beef with half pound sausage and made a sauce mixing pizza sauce, tomato bisque(instead of Cream of T), mushrooms, onions and Italian seasonings with the beef mix. Less layering work that way. Just layered sauce, noodles, pepperoni and cheese and repeated finishing with cheese baking until cheese was melted and starting to get bubbly. Yum!

Quick Turkey and Rice

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2008
It's quick, it's easy, but that's where it ends. Didn't much care for the celery and it needs a lot of "doctoring up". Added Italian stewed tomatoes(thus making it two 14oz cans), salt, pepper, oregano, thyme, rosemary, garlic, basil, sage, marjoram. It makes a lot. Might try it with eggplant and zucchini instead of celery next time, but then that's a whole different recipe, isn't it?

Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2008
Awesome recipe. I used a mix of medium black bean/white corn salsa and peach/mango salsa and co-jack cheese(lots of it!!). Served it over risottos style rice.......DELICIOUS!!! A definite keeper.

Cinnamon and Lime Chicken Fajitas

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2008
Very nice, we decided it's a keeper. Who'd've thought that cinnamon on chicken would work, but it does. I offered several toppings with it(sour cream, salsa, salsa con ceso, shredded cheese, olives, shredded lettuce, tomatoes) for everyone to build their own fajitas. They were not try at all that way. I recommend getting the biggest tortillas you can get to have ample room for all this flavor.

Bow Tie Tuna Florentine

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2006
I was very pleased with the results on this one, even my 17yr old ate it. Big PLUS!!! Creamy pesto in dry form hard to come by around here, simply substituted pesto in jar, omitted the milk and added some sour cream.
