Creamy Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
This was pretty good - not my favorite though. I did make some changes based on others' reviews. I used one can of milk, and used fontina and sharp cheddar. I topped this with chopped tomatoes and crumbled turkey bacon. It seems like there is something missing with the sauce's flavor.

Oatmeal Craisin Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
I love them, my husband and kids love them, everyone who has tasted them loves them! So much better than oatmeal raisin cookies! They stay nice and soft and are better the day after you bake them. GREAT recipe!

Simple Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
This chili is phenomenal! The whole family loved it. I took the advice of other reviewers and used 1 can of mashed kidney beans and 1 can of rinsed whole beans. I also substituted green pepper tobasco for the cayenne since that's what I had on hand. Wonderful! Thanks so much for sharing this recipe!

Tortellini Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
I'm giving this 4 stars only because I made a few changes: I sauteed a small onion and garlic in 2 tsp. of olive oil then added chicken broth (instead of vegetable) and the tomatoes and brought it to a simmer. Added frozen spinach (thawed and well-drained) and then frozen chicken and mushroom tortellini. It was amazing - so simple and quick and even the kids liked it!! I LOVE this recipe!

Baking Powder Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
This is the first time I've made biscuits from scratch - these were very tasty and easy to make. I took the advice of others and cut the sugar down to 1 tbsp. I dropped them instead of rolling the bough out and also brushed melted butter on top before I baked them. They were fantastic, almost like a scone, and worked perfectly with sausage gravy and with blackberry jam later in the day. :) Thanks for the recipe!

Super Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
Wow...this tastes exactly like Bob Evans' sausage gravy! I grew up on this stuff, I have loved it all my life...even after working at Bob's for a few years! I made this last Sunday and I'm making it again for my Dad this weekend. He's a little skeptical - I can't wait to prove that this can be made at home! It'll save me some money hauling the family out for my sausage gravy fix. AWESOME recipe! And so easy! I followed it exactly except I did omit the salt. It really doesn't need it.

Pumpkin Cake I

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
This cake was moist, tasty, and a huge hit at work! I had tons of requests for this recipe. I bumped up the spices a bit but otherwise followed the recipe exactly, and baked it in a bundt pan. I'll be making this again and again!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
Everyone loved these! I made them in my mini muffin pan. They are perfect for my seven-year-old's lunches. The only thing I would change is I wish the topping was crunchier. All in all absolutely delicious, and I can see this becoming a family favorite.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
I am rating this 4 stars because my husband and brother-in-law loved it, and I am not a huge fan of BBQ - so not the best judge for this one. :) It was very easy to make. I placed the 3 lb shoulder roast roast on thick sliced onions and added three peeled cloves of garlic. We used A&W root beer and cooked on low for 3 hours. The meat was very tender and tasty. We added Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce. I will definitely make this again, I'll probably just put some aside sans sauce for me next time.
