Baked Pesto Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2008
Love it!! Great recipe as-is. I used a random jar of pesto I had in the pantry, threw the chicken & pesto into a freezer bag, shook it up, and let it sit for about 20 minutes before baking. I cooked the chicken for 30 minutes, then for 3 more minutes after adding the cheese and tomato. It was perfect! My friend said she felt like she was eating Carrabbas in my livingroom.

Amish Slaw

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2011
WOW. I'm eating this right now, three days after I made it. It's so good!!!! I did not have celery seed, and I didn't notice that there is supposed to be oil in the recipe until after I boiled everything (oops!). I drizzled some olive oil over everything to make up for that. Grab a slotted spoon & enjoy!!!

Roasted Winter Squash Seeds

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2010
These are perfect as-is, although most recently, I added a sprinkling of cumin before baking. I used the seeds as a garnish for my butternut squash soup. Nice little crunch!

Chocolate Frosting I

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2010
Very good! I halved the recipe to lightly frost an 8x8 pan of "Quick and Easy Brownies" from this site. I was able to use a whisk for the first part, and a spatula to finish it up. Great flavor, color & texture.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2010
Hey, these are great!! I halved the recipe, but otherwise did not change anything. I was only able to chill them for about 45 minutes, and they turned out great. Slightly crispy outside, chewy inside! Yay! Thanks :)

Beer-Batter Onion Rings

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
I did these on the stove, in about an inch of heated oil (I used a candy thermometer to get the oil to the right temp). One cup of beer worked great, & my mom asked "where'd you get these?!" :) I sprinkled salt on them as they cooled on the paper towels. Thanks!

Excellent and Healthy Cornbread

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2009
This was really good!! It was moist & dense, just how we like it; it was the perfect accompaniment to our turkey chili. We did add a touch of honey to the mix, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. Will definitely be using this one again!

Quick and Easy Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2009
I made brownies from scratch only *once* before and was hesitant to attempt it again. However, these actually turned out great! Yay! I halved the recipe and baked it in an 8x8x2 pan at the time and temp specified in the recipe. Otherwise, I didn't change a thing and am very happy with them. Thanks for sharing!

Russian Tea Cakes I

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
These were a classic Christmas treat growing up, so I was happy to find the recipe. I followed this one exactly, and they came out just as I remembered them. I used salted butter, Mexican vanilla extract, and mixed everything with a fork. The dough was indeed crumbly, but squishing them thoroughly to form the balls yielded some great cookies. Thanks for sharing this one!!

Pesto Cheesy Chicken Rolls

Reviewed: May 4, 2008
Amazing. Rave reviews from my fiance and a friend this weekend! I had shredded Italian blend cheese on hand, so I used that and topped the chicken rolls with marinara sauce before baking. Topped with extra cheese during the last five minutes of baking, and WOW! Thanks for sharing this one!

Pumpkin Apple Butter

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2011
Wonderful! This was my first canning experiment, and it turned out perfectly. I doubled the recipe and got 10 Ball jars (8 oz) full. Probably would've gotten more if I hadn't kept "testing" it! It did splatter, so be careful, and use homemade applesauce if you can. Thank you to the recipe author for this keeper!

Basic British Scones

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2007
I've been living in England for a little while now, and I decided it was time to learn to make these. This recipe is perfect! They taste just like what I've been getting over here. I added some frozen blueberries to mine. It was a little messier and I had to work fast, but they really are tasty. It also helps to use chilled butter, cut it into cubes, and use your hands to mix it in. Thanks for this recipe!

Thanks for the recipe!! I used Pina Colada flavored gelatin with pineapple rum and coconut rum. Awesome! I also tried Strawberry Daquiri flavored gelatin with the coconut rum. Again, awesome! Thanks!

Cream Cheese Cookies IV

I love these cookies because you can be creative with them! Try different cake mixes, or top them with frosting. I've used cinnamon swirl mix and chocolate mix. Both were crowd-pleasers!

Awesome. Just what I was looking for; a simple, cake-like pumpkin cookie that wowed my boyfriend and his buddies. One even said they were second only to his mom's cookies!

Stuffed Peppers with Turkey and Vegetables

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2005
What a great, fresh recipe! Guiltless too! I have never made suffed peppers before, and my boyfriend loved these. This recipe is easy to play around with; I threw in some minced garlic and crushed red pepper for a little zing. I also simplified things by buying a bag of frozen chopped red & yellow peppers & onions. They worked great! I served these up with some angel hair pasta parmesan on the side for a tasty meal. Thanks!

GREAT RECIPE! We were craving some cookies at the barracks, so I did a quick search and found these... We got a lot of hugs from the guys for these! ;-) I even mailed some to my mom cross-country, and she couldn't stop talking about them! Thanks for a great recipe.

Aunt Norma's Rhubarb Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2011
These are delicious! The topping was a bit tricky to handle; it didn't "crumble" onto the muffins, so I added some oats to make it more manageable (see photo). I love the flavor in these. I think buttermilk makes a big difference! Thanks for sharing :)
