I work in a preschool. I am happily married with 4 great children.
My family has always spent a great deal of time in the kitchen. All of my children love cooking with Mom. I love showing the children how to make recipes that have been handed down from generation to generation.
My favorite things to cook
Seafood, breads, and pastries
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making family recipes handed down from gneration to generation. I enjoy canning pickles and jam, German dishes from my Mother's side, and South American dishes from my Dad's side.
My cooking triumphs
I came up with a swedish meatball recipe that our Swedish exchange student said tasted like her grandmother's. It felt wonderful to bring a little bit of her home into our home.
My cooking tragedies
When I was younger, I decided to make my parent's breakfast in bed. My friend and I had never made pancakes before, but figured how hard could it be? We confused the salt with the sugar. My poor parent's ate, and tried to smile. It was the first of many mistakes of trial and error. Live and learn.
