Blueberry Crumb Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2005
These are delicious! They are best a little warm with vanilla ice cream melted on top. The crust and crumble topping are great and stay crunchy days later. I used fresh blueberries the first & third time I made these and black raspberries the second. The blueberries is still my favorite. I followed the recipe exactly but I used butter flavored shortening sticks (makes them stay crunchier longer!). This is my new favorite summertime dessert. I still want to experiment with more fresh fruit, I'm thinking of tart cherries. Mmmm!

Playgroup Granola Bars

Reviewed: May 19, 2005
These were really good. I added about 1/4 cup of butterscotch chips and 1/8 cup unsalted sunflower seed along with the raisens that are optional in the recipe. You can very easily exchange other ingredients you have on hand and they were very easy to whip up in a hurry. Thanks for submitting the recipe.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2005
I have made this carrot cake many times and I love it. It's very moist and delicious. I prefer using walnuts instead pf pecans though. My husband doesn't like carrot cake (the thought of carrots in a cake) so I share this with family. I did almost get him to try it by telling him it was a spice cake, but he figured it out. Thanks for the great recipe.

Apple Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2004
I love this apple dip, it tastes just like caramel. I tried the suggestion for using strawberry cream cheese, it was good but a little too sweet for me. I think I like using plain light cream cheese. I also added a 1/2 cup of chopped honey roasted peanuts to mine. YUM!

Peach Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2004
Very Very good bread, I got compliments all around! The batter was really thick and I added a small amount of water to it. I baked mine in four small loaf pans for about 40 min. I turned up the temp. to 375 for the last 10 min. because they were so wet in the center. They didn't rise very much but the bread had a nice consistency and great flavor. Thanks for the tasty recipe.

Deep-Dish Peach Custard Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2004
This pie tasted very good and was surprisingly not very sweet. But be sure to put a lined baking sheet underneath the pan when baking it. I made two pies and both ran over A LOT. You could probably get away with two pies from one recipe of custard filling.

Easy Alfredo Sauce I

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2004
This is an excellent recipe, my two year-old LOVES this. I've made it with shrimp and broccoli and chicken and broccoli. The store bought alfredo in a jar doesn't even compare. This is loaded with calories and fat, but it's well worth the splurge every once and a while. No problems with it getting thick enough either. One last tip, use fresh grated parmesan not the pre-packaged shredded stuff. I had trouble the second time I made this with getting the cheese to melt smoothly when I used the store shredded cheese.

Hershey's ® 'Perfectly Chocolate' Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: May 18, 2004
This is the best chocolate cake recipe. It's very easy and moist. I have only baked mine in a 9x13" baking pan (just follow the baking time in the recipe then gradually add to it until a toothpick comes out clean). I love to frost mine with a cool whip pudding frosting. Try "Cool Whipped Frosting" on this site submitted by Shirley.

Great frosting to use on dark chocolate cake. It's not too sweet and compliments it nicely.

This is a great pie. A bakery I used to work for also made this pie. It's always a hit.
