White Chocolate Macadamia Cranberry Dreams

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
A very good recipe. I made it just as it is, and in the future will add in more cranberries, as others have suggested. The recipe overall is quite mild, which is nice - as many white chocolate/macadamica/cranberry cookies are overly sweet. More cranberries, however, would give it just that slightly sour/sweet kick to make these out of this world.

Pumpkin Bread

A lovely recipe, although perhaps a bit heavy on the cloves/nutmeg. In the future I think I may also add raisins and perhaps a little bit of orange zest.

Simple Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2006
An excellent and forgiving recipe. I accidentally added the pecans to the brown sugar and cooked all, but still it was delicious (if not as crunchy as it might have been otherwise). My husband liked this recipe - simply, it's comfort food. One note, I was only making dinner for two, but found we ate all the topping. Might double it for four.

The Best Steamed Asparagus

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2006
This is fabulous! Simple, incredibly easy to make, and nutritious as well. I tend to overcook my veggies, despite my best intentions, but my asparagus came out perfectly crisp and crunchy with this recipe.

Strawberry Tiramisu for Two

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2006
Wow! This is sinful. We very much enjoyed this recipe, but found it just short of what we thought tiramisu might be (even with the strawberry modification).

Serbian Ground Beef, Veggie, and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2006
Fabulous, easy meal. Great spices. I omitted the green pepper, as I don't care for it, but this was still fabulous. Used Hungarian Paprika, which provided a little more depth. My British husband was a bit skeptical about what I'd described as "an Eastern European version of Shepherd's Pie," but we were both won over. One warning, this is supposed to serve 4. We're not normally big eaters, but we liked it so much, the two of us ate it all!

Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2006
Excellent recipe! My husband and I both really enjoyed it. I made a few changes. We're not fans of mayo, so following others advice, I mixed together 1/2 part sour cream and 1/2 part cream cheese. We also didn't have any frozen spinach, so I fried some fresh spinach in a little oil and garlic. I also added a touch of Provence spices and a bit of tomato paste. The chicken wasn't entirely defrosted when I cooked it, but it was still a bit overdone. Will reduce the cooking time next time around. May also brine the chicken. In all though, it was so tasty. The spinach and feta mix is the perfect foil for the bacon. Thanks for the recipe. We'll definitely make it again!

Sweet 'n' Hot Glazed Salmon

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2006
Made this after a long day at work - was glad to have a relatively easy and delicious recipe! Added a little over double the cayenne pepper, based on reviews. That really brought out the "hot." My husband loved this dish. Will definitely use this recipe again.

Baked Ziti III

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2006
Seeing that this recipe called for canned spaghetti sauce, I was a little concerned about using it. I read many of the reviews and thought, "well, maybe my concerns are for nothing." I was wrong. I'd been looking for a richer, spicier version of my ziti. What my husband and I ended up getting was something that was indeed easy to make, but really tasted like canned spaghetti sauce (I used Bartolli's). So, maybe it was the spaghetti sauce we used, maybe not. I think we both would have preferred something with a homemade sauce.
