Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2006
This recipe was very good.the best big fat, chewy choc.chip cookie ever. I used a bit less than a 1/2 tsp. of salt like some of the reviews recommended to do, and margarine instead of butter. The dough came out good. but when I was trying to drop the dough by spoon onto the cookie sheet, the dough would some what crumble.so instead I rolled the dough into balls and pressed them down in my palms. It worked out pretty well. Next time I will use unsalted butter. I also used 1 1/2 cup of choc. chips. b/c I thought there was much more choc. chips then cookie dough and the cookies still came out with a generous amount of choco. chips in the them. I am a choc-ol-aholic myself, and for me 1 1/2 cups was plenty chololaty. I also used a little less than 1/2 cup white sugar like some reviews said to do so and considering the fact that the choc. chips were gonna be adding more sweetness to the cookies. I took the advice of a couple of reviews I read, and the 1's that did excatly wat the recipe asked and still found it too sweet. so followed the advice and my cookies came out perfectly, not too sweet.just rite. Im glad I didn't take the chance of addin the full 2 cups of chips and the exact amount of white sugar. Other than that I will recommend you try out this great recipe I am sure it will "WOW" a lot of people. The cookies did keep to its name.just AMAZING .. I don't have to look for anymore choc. chip cookie recipes cause I found mine! Thank you Elizabeth!

Cinnamon Rolls II

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2007
After a second attempt at this recipe... I was REAllY HAPPY and impressed. The first time I made them the dough turned out great.I didnt need to add extra flour. What I did Then I had'nt read all the reviews that had recommended to let the rolls rise for a good amount of time. So I just threw them in the oven and my cinnabuns cam out and were a cinnamess:( Well I had to attempt this recipe again and I did and was glad I did.Definetly let them rise for a good 2-3 hours after they have been rolled and before for a 1/2hr.They are much more fluffier that way. Dental floss is great to cut them with.Great tip thanx. And I also used the "creamcheese icing II" recipe on this site. Wanted more creamcheese taste. Overall,They were amazing. My family luved them and it's a keeper.UPDATE..01/11/11 So i've been making this for a few years no and i've experimented more with it... I add 3 eggs now to give the dough more richness and flavour. and the sugar and cinnamon mix..i add the butter to it to make it a paste and spread evenly on the dough....this recipe rocks... I get asked to make it all the time.. request after request... i have never had leftovers they get devoured everytime. THe more thet rise the better.... I always let the dough rise after kneading it for at least an hr. and when they are rolls let rise till doubled in size. then bake result: light and fluffy.

French Pastry Pie Crust

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2008
thank you. This was the first time i make a pastry for an apple pie recipe. I did it, it turned out flaky and delicious. I froze the butter and used a box grater to grate the butter. it make it easier to incorporate into the flour.I also added a little more water till it made a ball.It will takes great with apples. I also used grandma Opel's recipe .. really easy and lovely. Thank u again will definetly make again. I made this again, in a weeks time.. because it was soo good. But this time i use all shortening, the golden crisco to be specific. It turned out wayy better. Don't get me wrong the butter was good too but I found it makes the crust hard to cut into. Very flavourful but too hard.Where is the crisco makes it oohh soo flaky and so delicious and tender. so I recommend you use crisco.

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2008
ummm umm umm.. these were delicious. mI used crisco insteaad of butter and they turned out perfect. I also added 1/4 more flour and 1/2 cup more peanut butter because my family luves peanut butter and it was wonderful.Ohh and a splash of vanilla. I also did what mom would do when we were kids and let us roll the balls of dough into sugar and the flatten them down with a fork. Momories are wonderful.I found it better to flatten them down once was better than twice making the cross. Why? well because the thinner they got the more likely they were to fall apart. So they came out just the right size. B.T.W this recipe makes a lot of cookies. I think maybe like 4 - 5 dozen depending on the size of balls you roll. Thanks again.

Self-Filled Cupcakes I

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2008
this was a great addition to my chocolate cupcakes.I was bored with the usual cupcake.. chocolate with icing on top,so i went searching for something different and came across this wonderful recipe. I made them last nite for a family dinner and everyone raved about them. There are many kids in the family and well the were my critics and I was worried about the cheese filling turning them off, but I got the opposite. The kids thought they were awesome. They all came up to me and asked me what i put inside them. I did what others said and used mini chocolate chips and that was a great tip. I use a my own recipe for the cupcakes and just added the filling. I also use cream cheese frosting II for icing on top .I didn't have a problem with the filling sinking to the bottom. over all i luved this recipe.I call it a SURPRISE CUPCAKE. Im known as the cupcake queen now, and everyone wants me to make more for the next dinner party which is soon. Thank you for this recipe , i will keep it.

Banana Banana Bread

"Yummmm O" Now this recipe is definitly a keeper.I used 6 large bananas and added cinnamon and nutmeg and walnuts for that special crunch.i Also added a brown sugar coconut crumble on top..um ummm Result: AMAZING!! Keeps to it's name "Banana Banana Bread". I usually add chocolate chips , but i didnt for this recipe and it doesn't need it. I luv the banananyyyy taste. I cooked for 65 minutes. Turned out moist and delicious. I hate when u cut into a banana bread and it crumbles...well This one doesn't it hold very well... thank u will be making this over and over again. Another reason this recipe is great. U can make it ur own and added what u like.U can be creative. I am still using this recipe. Last time I made it I added 1 cup of blueberries and omg.. was it delicious. I just finished making a loaf now...just put it in the oven and well I did something different. I usually add lots of choo.chips but had none.. so instead when i greased the pan an I sprinkled the pan with cinnamon sugar. a waiting results.... this recipe is so versitle. Have fun with it like I do. thanx again !update: I have made 4 other well rated banana bread recipes from this site....but I keep coming back to this. Honestly its basic and simply delicious.

The only thing i did different was i added mini chocolate chips and reese pieces on top and inside . Bake only 10 minutes .. they came out perfect. Soft and chewy. The recipe is great to make ahead.I made it the night before and refrigerated till i baked them. Great to make ahead and keep in the fridge when u need them . Freezable too. I keep already patted down balls in the freezer and bake from frozen. They taste awesome.Kids will luv them too.The recipe made 48 large cookies for me. 1 hour to prepare and bake ...gone in half.:) hey, all i got was "these are delicous and will u give me the recipe". Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2008
This is a great recipe. Turned out perfect.I made it for family that came over last nite. My husbands cousins luved them. I wasn't sure how pumpkin would work with kids as my critics, but they luved them. I gave them some to take home thats how much they luved them. I added lots of canned pumpkin as some of the reviews said to do. and so i added more flour to get the cookie dough consistancy. I also added pecans for some crunch.I used the mini chocolate chips because i find they disperse in the batter better than the regular chips. With those i find u only get a couple chips in a cookies b/c they are big. I will be making this again soon. I love fall and well these are perfect as a fall dessert. Fall flavours fill my home when I bake them. The cinnamon and nutmeg are lovely. They come out awesome, soft and delicious. Thanks again.

Classic Gingerbread Cutouts

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
This is a great recipe. I added more spice. 2 1/2 tsp ginger, 2 tsp cloves, 2 tsp cinnamon and i also added nutmeg for that extra kick. They are awesome. Soft and delicious. I will definatly be using this recipe for my gingerbread house. Oh and just so u know, use Fancy Molasses for gingerbread. I didn't know that there are 5 types of molasses. I used cooking molasses for my first recipe and they turned out really dark and tasted too licorishy. Although cooking molasses is a mixture of fancy and blackstrap its way to strong for gingerbread, but great for ginger snaps. Hope this helps. I used the royal icing recipe , it turned out great. Ofcourse i added color to some and made them extra special.

Basic Truffles

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
yummmmy... these were delicious. I needed to make party favors for my daughters 1st birthday party and I came across this recipe. Last minute idea.. perfect. I didnt need to run out to the store to grab ingredients, i had everything on hand.I made them the night before and left them out on the counter and in the morning I refridgerated for 2-3 hours and then I rolled them in cocoa powder and i also drizzled some with caramel. I put them in a yellow muffin cup, put some hersheys kisses along side of them and wrapped them in pink pokka dotted cellophane wrap and tied them with a pretty burgandy ribbion. They were cute, beautiful and delicious. Thank you for sharing this recipe. ohh i also used 3/4 of a cup of heavy cream.
