Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2012
The perfect potato soup! I substituted 6 slices of cooked and crumbled bacon for the ham, and I pureed the onions and celery in the food processor so my son couldn't spot them. Other than that I followed the rest of the recipe to a tee. We topped it with shredded cheddar cheese and sliced scallions. Another one for the rotation list. Thanks for sharing.

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2012
This was delicious and so easy to make. Even my picky 13-year old asked that we add it to meal rotation. The only change I made was I used only 2 large chicken breasts and in the sauce I used 1 TBS. of Sriracha sauce in place of the 2 TBS. of hot sauce, because that was all I had on hand. I browned the meat on high heat (instead of medium) for 2 minutes and simmered in on low for 8 minutes. The sauce thickened up perfectly and the chicken was tender and delicious. If I was making this with 4 chicken breast, I would double the sauce, since it was the perfect amount for 2 large chicken breasts.

Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2006
I can't understand how this recipe has a 5 star overall rating as it is written. There is WAY to much salt in this recipe and I love salt! In order to salvage dinner I dumped out half of the *gravy* and added 1 additional cup of plain water to cut the salt along with a cup of sour cream and 1/4 of white wine. Without the changes there would have been no way my family would have been able to tolerate the salt. I would definately recommend removing all salt from the rub as the meat absorbs the salt from the bullion. It was a decent meal after the changes. I also thickened the gravy with 3 TBS cornstarch and 3 TBS of water.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Fantastic! My kids were so dissappointed to learn that we weren't having marshmallows on our sweet potatoes this year....that was until they tasted them. These are out of this world delisious and my kids couldn't get enough.

Tangy Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2005
Tihs is a fantastic glaze! I cooked it about 5 minutes longer than called for so it would be a nice thick sticky consistency in order to assure it stayed on my ham for the last 45 minutes of cooking. Everyone raved how great it was. Thanks so much for sharing!

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2005
Fantastic! Even my kids who refuse to eat stuffing will eat this one. I substituted turkey sausage for a family member who is allergic to pork and used all fresh herbs (dried herbs have a more concentrated flavor so if you use fresh herbs double the amount called for). Thank you so much for the recipes. It has become a standard holiday stuffing in our house. :o)
