Simple White Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2012
I made this when I had to make some cupcakes. I followed the recipe exact, except I thought the batter was too thick. So I added about 1/4 cup more milk. This made about 12-14 cupcakes, so I would suggest doubling the recipe if you need 24 cupcakes or a larger cake. They baked up wonderfully, it was a dense, moist yummy cake. I hand mixed this in a bowl because I did not want to over mix the batter, which can produce a tougher cake. It tasted like a sugar cookie in cake form, delicious.

Old Fashioned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2012
We love this recipe, I have made it several times. The only thing that I do different is use sweet pickles chopped up instead of using sweet relish. I really like the flavor that the celery salt gives this dish, I would not leave this spice out.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
This was delicious! I did read the reviews before I made this. I boiled the chicken and veggies in chicken broth and instead of using peas I used about a cup of cut up potatoes plus a garlic clove to give the broth more flavor. Before I drained them I reserved a little more than a cup. I kept the seasonings the same but added about 1/4 teaspoon more salt and 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder. I also used 1 cup of milk instead of 2/3 cup due to some reviews that it needed more of the liquid mixture. I did mix the chicken/veggie mixture to the liquid before putting it in the pie crust. It was so good! Thanks for the recipe.

I am giving this recipe 41/2 stars, I would have given it a five except it was just a bit salty for me. It was delicious and I did follow the recipe exactly.

Beer Margaritas

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2010
These were awesome! I did use water and not sprite like other reviewers had suggested, it would have made the drinks way too sweet. There is plenty of sugar in the limeade. My husband does not care for margaritas at all, but loved these and we drank these up very quickly while bbq-ing! This is the recipe we will use from now on, and these would be perfect on a hot summer day.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2010
How funny! I was just browsing the web site and came across this recipe. I work at a bakery as the cake decorator...which also includes the job of icing and decorating all the sugar cookies and cupcakes, etc. This is the exact recipe we use to frost our sugar cookies. The bakery itself has been open for over 20 years and people love the cookies there and most of them say it is because of the icing. The secret to it is the almond extract. It is runny at first but once you let it dry you can decorate and make your cookies look great.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2010
This is delicious! The pork chops turn out to be so tender, they fall off the bone. I love the white wine in the sauce mixture because it gives it a little tang. The next time I make these I would like to add sauteed mushrooms and onions to put over top the pork chops. I personally love these with mashed potatoes, I use the sauce mixture as a gravy for them.

Maple Salmon

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2010
This recipe was so easy to put together it was awesome. I did take the advice of another reviewer and took the skin off the fish, to help it taste less fishy. We ate this with white rice and I chopped up some green onions and put it on top of the rice and fish to give more color...very good.

This was the easiest fudge that I have made. It had the perfect peanut butter flavor and was not too sweet either. It was hard to quit eating it.

Chocolate Earthquake Cake I

Absolutely delicious, my husband and I ate a piece of this cake every night until it was gone! The only thing I changed was that I only used 2 cups of the powdered sugar, and I used devil's food cake mix. The next time I think that I will try this recipe using lemon cake.

Chicken Breasts Stuffed with Perfection

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2010
This was so good. Yes there are a lot of steps, but it is well worth it. The only ingredient that I did not have on hand was the feta cheese. So I substituted it with cream cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese. Instead of frozen spinach I had fresh. Plus I did not use as many bread crumbs as called for. It was delicious, thx for the recipe.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
I loved this! I was short on time when I made it so for the sauce I just sauteed the amount of garlic and onion in the olive oil and added jarred spaghetti sauce to it and it tasted great that way. I also added extra eggs to the meatball mixture so that they were very moist. I will make this again.

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
Quite suprised that this was not as amazing as I thought it would be. I followed the recipe exactly, and it was too dry for me. If you like creamy, gooey mac and cheese than this is not the recipe for you. I don't think that I will make this again and if I do I will need to make modifications to get the taste that I like.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2008
This was awesome! I followed the recipe exact except I did use a pint of fat free half and half and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch to thicken instead of heavy cream and it turned out perfect. So this was a guilt free dinner for us with wonderful flavors, will be making again!
