Pineapple Grilled Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2015
Very good! My family enjoyed this recipe! The marinade was perfect and would also be great with chicken! The grilled pineapple added a nice sweet touch. I will be making this again!

Sour Cream Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2013
I've tried this recipe a few times and it is delicious! I prepared the recipe today using lite sour cream. I could not tell a difference and I will be using lite sour cream from now on since I'm trying to eat healthier! I don't always brown the chops before placing into the crock pot and it still turns out great. Today, I cooked it on high for 3 hours and they were perfect! I really don't think you can go wrong with this recipe! It's a keeper in our house!

These are awesome! I baked these for my coworkers to snack on before Christmas and I received many compliments! Everyone wanted the recipe! I baked another batch for my family and they were gone in no time! If you love peanut butter cups, you'll love these even better!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
These cookies were very very good! I have never made ginger cookies before this attempt and I will definitely make these again and again. I used regular butter instead of margarine because that is what I had and normally don't bake with margarine. I also refrigerated the dough for about an hour before forming the balls of dough. Rolling them in sugar was the perfect touch to these cookies. I rolled the entire balls of dough in the sugar and ended up needing more than 2 tablespoons. I flattened the dough slightly before baking and they yielded a very thin, soft cookie! I ended up with 30 cookies. Thank you so much for a wonderful recipe!

Baked Pineapple

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2010
This is a good baked pineapple recipe, but I felt that it just needed something. I think it is better if the crackers are mixed in rather than used as a topping. I will adapt this recipe to my family's tastes and hopefully I won't have to throw any away next time. Someone else said that the recipe had too much butter. It seems that way at first, but it is really the perfect amount once you bake it.

Fried Green Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2010
This is a great way to fry green tomatoes or any other vegetable! I also tried cucumbers, which were great, but pickles were even better! You can also add a little cayenne pepper for a kick. Butter crackers, such as Ritz, work fine if you don't have saltines. I recommend crushing the crackers in a food processor. This recipe is a keeper! Thank you for sharing!

Upside-Down Orange Puffs

Reviewed: May 24, 2010
Great recipe! I used fresh squeezed orange juice. I was pleasantly surprised by how the orange flavor coated the entire biscuit. I will be making these again and plan to try different juices as well! Thank you for sharing!

Mexican-Style Goulash

Reviewed: May 18, 2010
This is a great, quick weeknight meal. I was searching for something different to do with ground beef and found this recipe. My three somewhat picky children loved it and asked for seconds. My husband turned his nose up when I was cooking it, but once he ate it, he liked it. I will definitely be making this again. Thanks for sharing!

Neat Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: May 5, 2010
I gave this recipe 4 stars because I felt like it needed a little more brown sugar and about 3 tablespoons of white vinegar. It's similar to a meatloaf recipe I love and it was definitely a favorite of my three children! Much better than storebought sloppy joe mix! It's a keeper!

Fluffy Pancakes

Delicious Pancakes! I've tried several other recipes for pancakes and these are by far the best! They are nice and fluffy and sweet...just how we like them! I doubled the recipe because there are 5 people in our family, and we ate all of them exept 2! Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Homesteader Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
This is a very good cornbread recipe. If you like soft, moist, not-too-sweet cornbread, this is for you. It was easy and cooked beautifully! I have a family of 5 and could have cut the recipe in half and probably still would have had some leftover. We are southerners who prefer sweeter, grainier cornbread. Next time I will increase the amount of cornmeal and sugar and decrease the amount of all-purpose flour a bit.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
These were very good! I followed the recipe exactly and was very pleased with the results! I didn't chill the dough at all. I baked them on parchment paper for exactly 15 minutes. They were still big, fat, and chewy! These were beautiful cookies!! I will be baking these again and again and again......Thanks for a great recipe!

Chocolate Mint Candies Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
These cookies were so good! I only used half of a mint on each cookie and that was plenty. I made these for Christmas gifts and received so many compliments. One of the teachers said she was going to start getting me to make cookies for every party! Warning: Don't chill the dough too long, especially not overnight. I chilled some of the dough overnight and it was so dry and crumbly! I managed to get them into cookie form, but the cookies didn't even taste as good. I wouldn't recommend chilling more than the hour that the recipe calls for.

Marinated Pretzels

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
This was pretty good. I put these in little cellophane bags to give out at Christmas time. I do suggest reducing the amount of oil to 1/2. I used 1/4 olive oil and 1/4 vegetable oil. The olive oil taste was strong the first day as someone else had mentioned, but the second day, they tasted much better. I also reduced the garlic powder to 2 tablespoons and it was still a bit too garlicy, in my opinion. I did not have dill weed around, but I will make sure I get some next time. I used to love the oyster crackers made this way and I think it was the dill weed that gave it that yum factor! I will update my review when I try that! I recommend doing these as gifts because I had a couple of gift receivers who were diabetic and they could not eat the cookies that I baked, but they ate these.

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
I am always afraid to try a new recipe in my house, but this recipe went over well! The kids weren't so sure about it at first, but they ended up really liking it! It was really good, but I gave it 4 stars because I didn't feel that it tasted very Mexican. Next time I will add a few more spices and wait to add the cheese topping until a few minutes before taking it out of the oven (It was a bit overcooked). Thanks for a great recipe!

Chocolate Ganache

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
This ganache was so easy to make! I bake cakes all the time and sell them, but had never tried ganache until I got a cake order with ganache filling. I trusted that this recipe was good based on the reviews, and indeed, it was. I actually used 1/2 bittersweet and 1/2 milk chocolate because after trying it first with just bittersweet, I thought it was a little too bitter. Once I mixed the two, it was perfect. I will definitely be using this recipe in the future! Thanks!

Breakfast Sausage

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
I'm so happy I found this recipe! We followed the recipe exactly. We used a pork shoulder, included all of the fat, and it was perfect. We used the grinder attachment for the Kitchenaid mixer. We coursely ground 8 pounds and formed it into 1 1/3 pound "logs" and rolled them up in wax paper and placed in a gallon freezer bag. Now, we can take them out and just slice them into patties. We will be making this sausage from now on!

Candy Coated Pecans

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
This is a good recipe....but I admit I did make some changes based on what other reviewers said they did. I followed the directions exactly up until I put them into the oven. I baked them for about 5 minutes, then I removed them and coated them again. Then I sprinkled cinnamon and brown sugar on them and baked them until done. My husband and my sister loved these...I made 3 batches and they were gone in a day! I plan to make these for Christmas gifts.
