White Chili I

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2008
I'm so glad I tried this recipe. My husband loved it. The kids even ate it! Next time I need to make a larger batch. I used only 3 chicken breasts and two cans of beans(1 pureed). I kept the measurements the same on all other ingredients. I added a little chili powder in addition to the cayenne. I also chopped up a green pepper and threw it in. I topped it with pepper jack cheese, sour cream, green onions and avocados. Awesome recipe!

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2008
These are the best brownies I've ever had! I followed the recipe as written except I used margarine and not real butter. If you like your brownies dry and crusty and kind of tasteless with a slab of frosting on top then find a different recipe. Thanks for the great recipe!

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2008
I made this recipe exactly as stated and I'm surprised it received such high ratings. It was just very, very bland. We added seasonings halfway through eating. I'm deleting this one from my recipe box because a recipe is really not needed to dump a roast and broth into a crockpot. After that part, it's just a matter of "winging it" with the seasonings.

Pesto Chicken Florentine

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2008
This is one of the best recipes I've ever used. It was easy and tasted amazing. I used a jar of Classico roasted red pepper alfredo and half a jar of Classico pesto. I cut the chicken into pieces and used rotini pasta. I skipped the spinach altogether because I served it with salad and asiago focaccia bread. You can't go wrong with this recipe if you use an alfredo sauce that you really like. I didn't even think I liked alfredo until I found a good one. Some alfredos have a really strange taste. Thanks for sharing this great recipe!

Great recipe. I used seasoned croutons and ground sausage instead of bacon and it came out great.

Easy Oatmeal Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2007
These sounded reasonably healthy so I decided to give them a try. I used applesauce in place of the oil. I also added some vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and raisins. The taste was fine with all those additions. The texture was so weird and I used paper baking cups that were almost impossible to remove - I don't know why that happened. This recipe wasn't a dumper but I definitely don't want these again.

We really enjoy this recipe. I doubled up the cheese and instead of broth I used chicken gravy. Great, easy chicken recipe.

Spaghetti Pie III

My family loves this recipe. I've been making this for awhile now and I'm going to try it with mozzarella tonight. We love the cream cheese in this rather than similar recipes with cottage cheese because it doesn't end up watery. Thanks for a great recipe.

Easy Cheesy Skillet Chicken

Very good recipe! Simple but good. I made this on a night that I had chicken to use up and I didn't feel like another boring seasoned chicken breast. I'll definitely make this again to serve over rice.

These were great. I used ground beef instead and salsa like other reviewers suggested. I made them with puff pastry sheets cut into circles, filled and folded over.

These didn't remind me of a Kit Kat. They were much better. I tried this because I was looking for something different than the usual cookies, cake, brownies, etc. I'm glad I tried this. Thanks for the great recipe!

Crispy Fish Fillets

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2006
I made this with ocean perch. I didn't care for this very much. It wasn't terrible. I just didn't like the strong yellow mustard taste. It was a little unusual with fish. Maybe it would be better with dijon. I did like how crispy the potato coating turned out.

Cheesy Catfish

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2006
I was disappointed by this recipe. I didn't make any changes to it but it did not get crispy. I broiled it at the end because it looked mushy. The coating was slimy when we ate it. Between the slimy coating and the fishy catfish taste, we dumped a lot of this dinner in the garbage.

Best Bread Machine Bread

This is the first bread I made in my bread machine that wasn't a dense little cube. It rose until it was just about touching the window in the bread maker. Great recipe! I'll keep this one and try adding some ingredients to it.

Easy Swedish Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2006
I've never made Swedish pancakes before or eaten them before but I thought these were very good. After I made a few I got the hang of it. I think they just need to cook longer than you'd expect for something so thin. They didn't seem to burn easily so I left them cook on the first side until they were very easy to turn. I'll probably make these again soon because they are a nice change from regular pancakes. Great recipe!
