My favorite things to cook
Favorite things to cook are roasted chicken and turkey with all the side dishes you can muster.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holidays and Sundays. We started having family dinners on Sunday nights - and I have told our kids that if they get a better offer and/or just don't want to come that it would be fine. All I can say is that they are almost always there - and often with a friend or two.
My cooking triumphs
I think my triumphs are just trying new things, and if they turn out, putting the recipe(s) in my file.
My cooking tragedies
I made beef stew once and my husband took it to work for his lunch in his thermos (before the days of microwaves). Well, when he poured it out into a serving dish, it was so heavy and gross he expected the dish to crack. OOPS!

Fresh Asparagus Soup
Very good - had to substitute sour cream for yogurt and will be making this again. And easy especially using an immersion blender.

Chicken Salad
I like the simplicity of this recipe. Great on a hot summer's night. I did add a little fresh tarragon and dill and a tad of dijon.

Mashed Potato Casserole
Have been using this recipe for several years and use the recipe as is or I use several variations w/the dip flavors. We love all types, but our favorite is using White Cheddar and Bacon Dip - and I add some bacon bits and some shredded Vermont White Sharp Cheddar. Dee-lish!! And if you want to be really BAD - a little bacon grease.
