Apple Walnut Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2011
I liked this recipe. I didn't use wheat flour because I didn't have any, so I substituted it for all-purpose. I added fresh nutmeg and instead of using 3/4 cups of oil I used 1/4 cups and replaced it with the applesauce! Very moist. However, if I were to make it again I would try shredding the apples instead of chopping them, just for aesthetic purposes.

Absolutely delish!! My husband loved it and he is a tough critic!! Will definitely make again and again! Easy and so good. I did add a bit of chocolate to each layer. Plus, I didn't use a canned frosting, but intstead made a ganache. Perfect!

Banana Pound Cake With Caramel Glaze

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2010
This cake is EXCELLENT! I added pure vanilla extract out of habit and I only had 3 bananas on hand, so that is what I used. I didn't add the nuts. The cake is soooo good and even better the next day! Don't omit the caramel glaze because it is delectable and it is what makes this cake so special!! Will definitely be a staple in my home! :)

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2010
I absolutely LOVED this recipe!! The only thing that I did different was adding a 1/2 tsp of salt to the recipe. This is a really tasty, soft cookie! I added sprinkles to the tops of them and kids couldn't get enough!!

Applesauce Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2010
My search for the perfect applesauce bars have ended here!! I am so thrilled that I came upon this recipe because it's fantastic. I doubled the recipe and added raisins, per some viewers suggestions. I'm glad that I did because I would imagine that the bars would have been way too flat if I baked them in such a big pan without doubling. Other than those few things, I didn't change anything else and I can't say enough. I love this recipe!!

Black and White Cookies I

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
Very good. I used semi-sweet chocolate instead of the bittersweet, just out of preference. However, my husband didn't like the glaze ontop of the cookies and I agree that the next time I make these I will use a buttercream frosting. I was a little apprehensive about using the lemon extract but it worked! These taste as if you bought them in a bakery, seriously! I was so pleased, and so was my daughter, they are her favorite!!

Excellent recipe! I didn't use the recommended crust, instead I used a graham cracker. I also doubled the filling recipe and good thing that I did because I don't think that it would be enough. These were quick, easy and my picky husband and daugher loved them!!

Pasta with Peas and Sausage

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2009
Really good recipe! I used spagetti noodles instead of the rigatoni and my husband and daughter loved it! Also, I didn't have frozen peas on hand, so I used canned peas and it was wonderful. Quick and easy, but absolutely delish!! Love it and will keep the recipe on hand for future uses.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Wacky Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2009
I was going to give this recipe four stars because I felt as if it were lacking flavor after I initially made but decided against it. It was super easy first off and didn't call for any eggs. You could throw this cake together in an instant! After it sat all night and I tasted it the next day I noticed that the flavors had time to enhance and I thought that it tasted better. It reminded me of a box cake, but better of course!! I didn't use the frosting recipe that it called for, I used the fluffy peanut butter frosting recipe from this site. The cake was really moist, light and fluffy. I added pure vanilla extract to the wet ingredients for adding them to the dry. I would recommend giving this a try, it's worth it!

Double Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2009
I really liked this recipe. The filling set very well and tasted great. I shortened the steps by adding the egg yolks to the milk and whisking them together before adding them into the pot. This worked out fine seeing how I did this technique in a different custard pie. Just don't stop moving it around. Other than that I didn't change a thing and I received rave reviews!

Coconut Cream Pie VI

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
Excellent and super easy pie!! I love this recipe and will add it to my recipe box. I added a half of teaspoon of coconut extract to the filling because I had it on hand and figured, 'why not'!! Make sure not to rush the process and keep stirring the custard the entire time. I used the Stabalized whipped cream recipe from this site for the topping and I would recommend that because you don't want a runny topping. Love it, thanks!!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Good, but not my favorite. Crisp outside and chewy center. A really good flavor. I didn't make them big, only tablespoon size because they were for my five year old daughter.

Big-Batch Butterscotch Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
I really enjoyed this recipe. I don't like the bag butterscotch chips so I didn't take the reviewers recommendations. Instead, I added pecans and toffee chips. These came out soft and chewy and delicious. If I hadn't added anything I feel that they would have been a bit too plain. You can really do a ton of things with this recipe, I love it!! Thanks
