Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
This didn't work out for me but am willing to give it another try.

Buttermilk Pie IV

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2009
I made this pie last night but forgot to follow some of the other reviewers suggestions about reducing the sugar. If I can get past the sugary sweetness I'm sure I'll enjoy this pie. My husband liked it, although he agreed that it was a bit sweet. I'll make it again but will reduce the sugar to 1-1/2 cups. I also added a bit of cinnamon.

Cream Cheese Squares

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
Oh My! Oh My! Oh My! How can something so easy taste so good? I did add an egg and a little lemon zest, but I believe this would have tasted just as good without the additions. Can't wait to make again.

Homesteader Cornbread

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2008
Best cornbread I ever made. Didn't change a thing, although I might reduce the sugar slightly when I make it again, which I surely will. It was a big hit at my house, especially with my 3 year-old granddaughter. Thanks for a keeper.

Pecan Tassies

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2008
I have been making these for more than 30 years. I simply call mine "nut toffees." I always spoon in a bit of pineapple preserves on the bottom of the tart before adding the toffee mixture (which I make without mixing in the nuts) and then sprinkle my chopped nuts (pecan or walnut) on top. Use a mini tart shaper (a nifty little gadget you could probably pick up at Pampered Chef) to press the dough into the pan, saves a lot of time and saves your thumb as well. Delicious.

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
I am not a great chili fan but, occassionally, when winter sets in, I'm compelled to make chili for my family, but I am often disappointed in the taste. Not this time. I didn't change a thing though, in the future, I might use a little less tomato juice; it does tend to thicken a bit. We eat it over rice, with a dollop of sour cream and grated cheddar cheese. Yum! Yum! My family, including my 3 year-old-granddaughter, enjoyed it. It's a keeper, "by George!"

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2007
OMG! I will never buy frozen again. A huge success among all I've served it to. Prepared this for a neighborhood cookout recently, where it was a success. I turned several people on to allrecipes.com. I took the suggestion of others by increasing the sauce, adding potatos and a few additional spices to taste. My 3 year-old granddaughter even liked it, and that means a lot. Plan on making it tonight. This is one of those recipes you'd like to pass down to your kids. Definitely a keeper. Thanks for a great recipe - one my family will enjoy over and over again.

Pauline Werner's Beef Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2007
I have prepared this for my family twice now, with very little variation in the recipe. We love it. Great with crusty french bread.

Chicken Milano

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2007
When I get the taste for a 5 star restaurant meal but don't have the extra money to indulge myself, my daughter or I will prepare this dish. We bring out the fine linens, a good bottle of wine, some candlelight (depending on time of day) and experience a culinary delight. Never tasted anything so good. Even my 3 year-old granddaughter loves it (my husband, on the other hand, prefers basic meat and potatos - go figure).

Kim's Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2007
My family loves this macaroni salad. The peppers give it a nice kick. Sometimes I'll add tuna or shrimp to it, just for a little different taste, but it's good on it's own. I do, however, use less salt than the recipe calls for. Plan on making it tonight. Yum. Yum.

Apple Dumplings I

My family loves these dumplings. My husband, who is a very finicky eater, can't get enough of them. Didn't have to change a thing. Will make over and over again. Thank you.

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: May 13, 2006
Absolutely love this chicken recipe, even my 2 year-old granddaughter liked it (that was the real test). I did follow some others advice and added parmesean cheese and Italian seasonings. Chicken breast can sometimes be dry but not when it's prepared this way. I'm making it for dinner tonight. Thanks for sharing this recipe.
