About this Cook
Hi all..I'm to cook and EAT! I'm always looking for different but delicious recipes. My boyfriend tends to like basic recipes, while I prefer recipes with a little twist- we try to find a happy medium. I grew up eating French, Armenian, and Greek food. My mother NEVER made chicken nuggets, and while I lamented my lack of Americanized cuisine as a child, I am now grateful for my eclectic palate. My childhood favorites include Armenian raviolis, French bread pizza, Armenian pizza, Greek Chicken Kapama, Stuffed Grape leaves (dolmas) served with lemon & yogurt, rice pilaf, fried salami sandwiches, baklava, shish-kabob..and many more! Once I get some free time, I hope to share my beloved family recipes with the allrecipes community (as it is my favorite website!).
My favorite things to cook
Anything my boyfriend likes! I hate making things I know he won't eat or won't like very much. If it's a crowd-pleaser then I like makin' it! I also love trying new and interesting dishes, but usually that means I eat alone!
My favorite family cooking traditions
coming home after school to the smell of nutmeg and chicken; my great grandfather's famous Greek Chicken Kapama! It's chicken simmered in a spicy broth of nutmeg, cloves, and allspice (to name the main ones) and served over a bed of spaghetti, chopped walnuts, and Parmesan cheese. That's "home" to me.
My cooking triumphs
homemade marinara sauce, homemade pasta, fresh pizza, vinaigrette's galore
My cooking tragedies
anything Lenten or vegetarian, they always suck whenever I try to make them! :(

Easy Grilled Tri Tip
OH, this marinade was the best. I followed the recipe to a T! I ended up grilling the steak slices 2min per side roughly and they were perfect. My boyfriend said, "this is the best steak I have ever had- even at a restaurant!" Perfect. I foresee a lifetime of using this wonderful recipe. Just excellent!!

Banana Cream Pie I
Gosh this tasted so good (with a Vanilla Wafer crust)...but whoever says not to bake this pie is wrong. I followed their advice and ended up with an un-set pie...while yes, it's yummy..but unless you're serving up a spoonful of pudding, you'll probably want to bake least a few minutes, otherwise it won't congeal.

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos
MmmMmm my bf loves it when I make these for dinner. So good just as is! Perfect with corn or flour tortillas- even to make chicken burritos. This is a recipe for life!
