Garlic Prime Rib

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2013
This was perfect! I made this for Christmas Eve and left my family speechless...because their mouths were full of rib roast! I followed the directions exactly and had a nice crust that was perfectly seasoned. I pulled the roast at 130, covered until it was 140 and served immediately. It was exactly medium rare. I might do this a little sooner next time because there are a few of us that are diehard rare meat eaters.

Emily's Famous Hash Browns

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2011
These are absolutely fab! They are crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. I sometimes adjust the amount of onion depending on my mood, and I also season them right when I put them in the pan. It is our new favorite for hash browns.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2011
This is awesome! My husband has been begging me to make a meatloaf and I was dragging my feet because I have never been a fan. I made this a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't get enough. I'm making it again tomorrow!

Red Wine Reduction Steak Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2011
This is a delicious recipe. I have changed it up a little by using olive oil for the saute, then adding only a TB butter at the end to finish it with a beautiful sheen.

Prime Rib and Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
I don't like lots of pepper on my beef, and I avoid salt because of the BP, but this recipe sure needs something more.

Japanese Onion Soup

Reviewed: May 9, 2008
I followed the recipe exactly, and there wasn't a single person in my family that was able to eat a bowl of this soup.

Babka III

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
Wonderful! It is almost identical to the recipe my Ukrainian Baba (grandmother) use to make. I like a few more raisins, but the flavor is delicious. Also, as a warning to the Babka uninitiated...NEVER try to use a mixer (even a heavy duty stand mixer), you will burn out your motor because this is a very thick, sticky dough.

I was REALLY disappointed. I will stick with the Peanut Blossom "Bakeoff" winner.

Bacon-Wrapped Venison

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
My husband could only say one word when he tasted this..."AWESOME". He took some leftovers to work and everyone wanted to know the name of this recipe so they could try it too. This is a keeper.

Amusement Park Cornbread

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2007
This is the only cornbread recipe I use now. I usually make muffins, rather than a skillet. I get 16 regular sized muffins, and they are always moist and delicious. My picky eaters gobble these up!

Chicken Paprikash I

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2007
This is a very good recipe, and this is a Hungarian talking. I personally like lots of sauce, so I increase the liquid. HUNGARIAN paprika must be used to get the true taste, or bland is an understatement. I also would never use boneless/skinless chicken breasts (to decrease cooking time as some have done) because the skin and cooking time is essential to meld the final flavor of "paprikas" (the Hungarian spelling of what is pronounced "paprikash"). Overall, this is the only recipe that I've ever had that can compare to the family recipe.
