I've been married since 1997 and am the busy mom of 3 great kids. My oldest son is a very picky eater while my second son will eat pretty much anything AND finish off everyone's leftovers while my daughter is a combination of the two. Trying to satisfy my love of trying new recipes and feed my family can be quite a challenge!
My favorite things to cook
Any type of roasts--beef and chicken especially.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is Italian and I grew up with a mom who made everything homemade--tomato sauce, bread, pasta, you name it. If we ate it, it was homemade. Our cellar was fully stocked with jars of homemade tomato sauce, pickled vegetables of every variety, and even salami, prosciutto and cheese left to age. Even my dad got in on the action. Not to mention the 101 varieties of homemade biscotti in the freezer. I'm trying my best to bring some of these traditions to my own home starting with the tradition of making bread--the foundation of an Italian home.
My cooking triumphs
The rosemary bread recipe I got from this website is a huge personal success for me because it was the first time I actually made homemade bread. I was always intimidated by the breadmaking process in the past, maybe because my mom was so good at it. My roast beefs are always a huge hit with guests.
My cooking tragedies
So far, I haven't had any major cooking tragedies. That could be because I stick to traditional recipes that have been in the family for ages or I try recipes from this website with great reviews!!
