Easy Beer Bread Mix

Candied Almonds

Didn't turn out quite as pretty as the pictures that were posted...more like an almond brittle. But reading through some of the other reviews I may not have cooked the mixture long enough. At the time I was afraid that I was cooking it TOO long. I'm about to try a 2nd batch to take over to a friends house, so it'll be trial and error. Regardless of the cooking time, it tastes awesome! Also, added about a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the mixture.

Vegan Brownies

This was my first time making a vegan recipe AND my first brownie recipe from scratch. I cut the vegetable oil in half and did half applesauce (the idea of a whole cup of oil kinda grossed me out!) Brownies turned out very cakey and mild in flavor. If you don't like your sweets TOO sweet, this is perfect for you.

Fresh Strawberry Upside Down Cake

I decided to make this for a BBQ we were having at our house. I read through the reviews and took the advice of those who cut the jell-o to 3oz., sugared and added more strawberries. It turned out pretty good! Everyone seemed to like it. My only gripe is that it was a little messy when first done. We dubbed it Murder Cake, and Blood Cake (LOL) due to the strawberry goo mess I made when trying to flip it out of the pan. But I left it in the fridge over night and it settled quite nicely. I will definitely make it again.

Company Couscous

This is my new favorite recipe! Modified this recipe a bit. Used garlic chicken broth instead of water and added yellow squash, zucchini, and mushrooms (you really can throw any veggie in there.) Spooned the end results into some peppers and made a vegetarian stuffed pepper. So good, I'm eating the leftovers right now for lunch!

Candied Kielbasa

My boyfriend loved it but it was a little too sweet for me. I checked some of the ratings and reviews of this recipe and took the advice to add mustard and extra horseradish at the end. I felt like this only added to the sweetness. I'm still glad I tried it, as dinner was over an hour ago and my boyfriend is STILL talking about it. LOL

Pumpkin Pancakes

Turned out pretty good! This was my first time making pancakes from scratch and the batter was thinner than I was used to working with, and therefore I burned a few before perfecting my timing. Other than that, the only change I made to the recipe was adding more sugar...probably used 1/4 cup overall. Didn't do the cider syrup, just used regular maple.

Pumpkin Chip Muffins

Made these for the first time tonight! They're tasty but could be more pumpkin-y. I added vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice and more cinnamon than the recipe called for, but I think I'll adjust the spices more when I make them again.

Baked Potato Soup

it was my first time making potato soup and it turned out great! i wanted it a little thicker, so i made the mistake of adding the flour once the broth was fully combined. i didn't realize the flour wouldn't break down, but we stuck it in the food processor to smooth out the lumpiness. that mishap aside, the taste was amazing and i wouldn't change a thing.
