Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2015
I LOVE this pot roast. We've made it at least 10X and it's PERFECT every time. So easy it's ridiculous. I do sear the roast on all sides before putting in the pot, use red wine in place of the water, and deglaze the searing pan with a little more red wine. Still only takes about 10 minutes to get this going. I am a gravy maniac and it blows my mind how good this gravy is, especially since it's SO simple. You know you've got to make mashed potatoes with this. I've served it several times for company but will never tell my guests how easy it is!

Linguine with Clam Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2015
I have been making this recipe about once a month for at least 5 years. I use FAR less butter and oil, and usually add extra clam juice and a little hot sauce or a finely minced hot chili. Sometimes I'll saute a bit of garlic and onion at the beginning, and add a little alfredo. Often I make it just as it is here. We keep a few cans of clams and linguine on hand at all times, because this is one of our "Yummy dinner in 15 minutes" standbys.

Laura's Quick Slow Cooker Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2007
our very first time making chili, and it came out so good! we like it SPICY so we added one habernero pepper seeded & chopped, one small can of diced jalapenos, and half a tablespoon of tobasco. i was worried at first that the jalapenos would be overkill, but all that time in the slow cooker seemed to mellow the flavors while infusing them into everything. also added diced fresh red and green bell peppers and replaced the tomato soup with diced tomatoes. our neighbors who used to run a restaurant in baja loved it! and so healthy on top of everything. this is a keeper!

Absolutely Fabulous Portobello Mushroom Tortellini

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2007
we love this recipe - quick easy and so yummy! the portobellos lend such a savory flavor to the cheesy tortellini. we've made this twice this month and my hubby is still craving it, so it looks like we will add it to the rotation. ** EDIT: Several years later, we STILL make this at least once every couple months. It never fails to satisfy.

Classy Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2007
I made it exactly as described and it was delish! Dill & dijon gives a nice zing; chicken was tender and moist. I used bottled sundried tomatoes in olive oil which i'm sure didn't hurt the flavor any.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2007
oh so good! my hubby LOVES chicken & dumplings so he was very happy when it came up on the menu. i used chicken broth in place of water and threw in some carrots & celery, plus about a teaspoon of poultry seasoning. will certainly be making this again!

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2007
wow, this was delicious!! i also used half sour cream and half mayo, rather than all of the mayo, but other than that followed recipe exactly. the only things i'll probably do different next time are to sear the chicken a bit for added texture and top with a sprinkle of fresh parmesan cheese for a crispy topping. hubby raved about this and i find myself craving it again already!
