Lemon-Thyme Cornish Hens

Reviewed: May 7, 2011
This recipe was Deeelicious! I actually didn't have lemons to juice so I substituted a table spoon of vinegar. Still came out great! Thanks for the recipe.

Kung Pao Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
This recipe is da bomb! Spicy, sweet, tangy, this recipe has it all. Just like the ones I'll see in the restaurants at my home. I actually omitted the water chestnuts because I've never seen it in kung pao chicken. Also I wasn't sure what hot chile paste is or how much 1 ounce is so I used a tablespoon of sriracha and lee kum kee chile garlic sauce. I am from Monterey Park which is also called the real Chinatown by purists so I know my kung pao chicken! Thanks for sharing =)

Out of this World Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
Yum! I'm suffering from turkey induced drowsiness right now because I ate so much of the turkey that I brined. The bird was a hit at dinner- everyone was used to dry turkey but this brine combined with a 4+ hour barbeque/smoke hit the spot!!!

Italian Dressing Mix

Good Stuff. I'm not a fan of bottled dressing and this hit the spot - flavoring salads & mending sandwich ingredients together.

It was alright but needed a little more "kick" Tabasco at the dinner table seemed to do the trick.

Good recipe - I'm not the biggest fan of mustard though. Little too sour for my taste. Overall pretty good dish.

Garlic-Herb Red Snapper

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
Instead of red snapper I first used it on Vermillion rockfish. I broiled it instead of grilling and skipped the lemon peel and chervil. It was delicious. The second time I put just the seasonings on trout broiled it and it came out great again.

Pretty good but the balsamic vinegar was too strong. I would use less or skip it altogether next time

Easy Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2006
I "fluffed" it up by beating air into the batter. There was one thing that kept it from being perfect; it had so much salt it would take a jar of maple syrup to balance out the saltiness!!!! OVERALL it was a pretty good pancake. Better than my Aunt Jemina =).

Holland Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2006
just like the cookies my neighbor makes during the holidays. I followed the directions but i dont' understand how the dough could retain its shape while cooking by just scooping the dough by a spoon. I found that it helps if you roll them into balls first. Anyways a great crowd pleaser but it can't be healthy! =P
