I grew up in a poor household. My single mom worked to support 4 kids. She never had the time to teach me about cooking. So I'm very uneducated. I found this site! Just recently embraced cooking, and now I'm enjoying my creations. This site has been my inspiration. This site has made me a great cook. I enjoy cooking now. I even get compliments on my cooking. I love reading everyones reviews. I learn something new everytime! Thank you all! My husband said to me the other day he thinks I've become an even better cook then his own mother! I almost cried! :)

My cooking tragedies
(13 years ago) When I was about 20, I tried cooking Chicken cord on bleu. I was such a horrible cook, I tried frying the chicken instead of baking it. I thought that's how you made it. I was a really bad cook. Everyone made fun of me. I still get ribbed for that one!

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs
OMG! Delish. Seasoned ribs with salt pepper and garlic powder first. Precooked before slow cooking. Used 2 cups BBQ in place of ketchup. 1 cup Ketchup in place of Chili Sauce. Used 6 dashes hot sauce and a teaspoon of Sambal Oelek Chili Paste. I'd probably add more Sambal Oelek next time for an extra kick. Followed the rest of recipe exactly cooking on low 6 hrs. Cracked lid for about an hour to thicken sauce at end and skimmed off fat from the top. Took out ribs from slow cooker when done and broiled both sides for 5 min to complete. Used leftover sauce from cooker for dipping. Husband cannot stop eating and raving about these ribs!

Fast and Easy Pancakes
These are on the sweet side, BUT They are delicious without syrup! I'm not a fan of syrup and these are fabulous without any. They are slightly rubbery but Delicious. I could see how they could be too sweet if added syrup for some. My 8 yr old had no complaints though and he used syrup. They cook up really easy.
