Tangy Barbecue Sandwiches

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
This recipe got more flavorful each day we ate the leftovers. My one piece of advice would be to be sure to trim as much fat as possible off of the chuck roast before making this and to skim the oil off the top toward the end of cooking - otherwise it gets a little greasy.

Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
Creamy and very tasty. My husband raved about it. However, I put in a little extra italian seasoning than the recipe called for, and it made the taste a little too strong. I also put in some extra milk because I worried about having enough, but the milk watered it down a bit. In sum, I'd stick very closely to the recipe if I made it again.

Simple Scones

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2007
The scones turned out delicious. My husband could not stop raving about them. However, I would not call them simple, even with the food processor, and cleaning up the kitchen afterwards took a long time. Next time I might make a double batch since it was too much work for only 8 scones.

Roasted Vegetables

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2006
My husband and I both found this recipe very starchy and a little bland. We used dry spices rather than fresh spices, so maybe that had something to do with it. We had tons of leftovers that we ended up throwing out after 3 days because we were sick of eating them.

Egg and Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2006
We've made this recipe twice for guests and it was a big hit both times. The first time I gave the crescent roll crust a head start in the oven and it turned out better than the second time when I forgot. When I didn't give the crust a head start, the casserole seemed a little bit soggy.

Boston Cream Pie II

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2005
After removing the cake from oven let it cool 10 minutes in the pan before loosening it and then very gingerly turning it over onto the cooling rack. I had to re-bake the cake because on my first try it fell completely apart when I tried to remove it from the pan immediately after I'd baked it. I made about 1/4 more icing than the recipe stated but I would recommend sticking with the amount in the recipe as I thought that the extra chocolate icing overwhelmed the other flavors in the cake. Though it was a lot of work, it was delicious, and it tasted even better after being in the fridge a couple of days.
