About this Cook
My favorite family cooking traditions
(1) Chicken Spaghetti on Christmas Eve. It is super easy because it calls for some of same ingredients as my Cornbread Dressing. Now both my nephew and niece have continued the tradition as they have married and had children. (2) Grandma Little's Oatmeal Cookies. As I am now 62, this recipe is about 100 years old. My mother and her siblings grew up loving these cookies; all my cousins grew up loving the cookies, and now the third and fourth generations declare this their favorite cookie. Even people who tell me they do not like oatmeal cookies ask me for the recipe after they have tasted one.

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie
It was pretty good - but a lot of work. I'll keep on looking.

Chocolate Supreme Pie
This was just pretty good. It was pretty rich - and normally, I like rich. Even though it was extremely easy, I would not make it again. NOTE: The instructions said "cool for 30 minutes." I let it sit out on the counter - that was not enough. I guess I should have put it in the refrigerator. Definitely do not add the cool whip until the chocolate mixture is at least cool.

Golden Rum Cake
I have made this recipe for years - but I too used pecans instead of walnuts. I always get raves when I make it. However, I could never get the glaze just right. Thanks so much for that tip!
