Chinese Shrimp and Tofu Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2006
This was very easy and tasted great! I made this for my grandmother, and because she can't swallow large pieces I chopped the shrimp into smaller, bite sized pieces, which worked out great for the kids too. The only other change I made was that I doubled the cornstarch. (I liked the soup a little thicker.) We ate it over white rice, and everyone, including the kids liked it. My husband says it's a keeper. (And that's saying a lot.) Thanks for the great recipe!

Chicken a la Creme

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2004
This was by far, the best chicken I have ever had! And to make it even better, it was so fast and simple! I ate it with some Uncle Ben's flavorful rice, and a side of green beans. I still dream of that meal. I will make this recipe again, as soon as I can.

Mediterranean Lemon Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2004
My guests thought this was a great recipe and they enjoyed it. I thought it was ok, and wasn't terribly impressed with it. It was very easy to make, and I wouldn't mind making it again.

Baked Garlic Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2004
Great recipe! I used chicken legs instead of breast, and I love garlic so I added a whole lot more. I didn't add the Parmesean because I had run out, but the recipe was still great. To the bread crumbs I mixed in some finely chopped Oregano. In addition, I wrapped 2 slices of bacon around each leg. Then I drizzled the remaining olive oil mixture over the chicken, and sprinkled the remaining bread crumbs too. I've already made this recipe twice and it was a hit both times.

Creamy Dill Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2004
This is a very easy and simple recipe, and it tastes great! I didn't have any fresh dill, so I used the dried kind, except I halved the amount called for. I tasted it right after I mixed it and could only taste the sour cream, but after I let it sit over night it was awesome! So much flavor! I brought it to a dinner party and the kids only wanted to eat the dip off their carrots, rather than bite into them as well! I will definitely be using this recipe again when I have a dinner party.

Hugs and Kisses Crescents

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2003
These were great and simple, once I figured out the temperature. I baked them at 350 for 10 minutes, and half way through I turned the pan around to make sure it all browned evenly. Instead of hershey's kisses I used semi-sweet chocolate chips. It was really good. I brought it to a church function and everyone loved it! Even after serving it completely cooled everyone loved it. Next time, in addition to the powdered surgar I think I'll try drizzling it with chocolate, or fudge!

Bacon Mushroom Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2003
This was the BEST thing I have ever cooked! I used boneless/skinless chicken, so it only took me 40 minutes to cook. I sliced the garlic rather than crushing it, and it still tasted great! I also added just a little bit of cornstarch to thicken the sauce just a tiny bit. I served it with Garlic & Butter Rice, and with thick slices of French bread. The bread sopped up the sauce wonderfully. I can't wait to make this recipe again.

Strawberry Sparkles

Reviewed: May 23, 2003
Good recipe. The cream cheese gave it an interesting flavor. Nice and sweet, but make sure that you'll eat all the strawberries once you've made them. I put a few in the fridge after, and it became mushy and the red sprinkles began to run onto the plate.

Cornish Game Hens with Garlic and Rosemary

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2003
Great! I love garlic, so I added more garlic than the recipe calls for. When making the gravy at the end, I added all the cooked garlic and mashed it in with the sauce. It gave it a much more garlicky taste. I didn't cut it in half like suggested, but served it whole, pouring the sauce over the hens as my husband and I ate. Our only problem was the mess, but otherwise, good recipe.

Oven Fried Chicken II

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2003
This recipe was quite good. I didn't have any breadcrumbs on hand, so I just put about 4 slices of sandwich bread and some italian seasoning in the blender until I got italian breadcrumbs. I think that next time I'll try adding different seasonings to the breadcrumbs to get a different flavor. It didn't taste fried at all, but very tasty nevertheless.

Red Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2003
I didn't really care for this recipe. It was edible, but not very tasty at all. When I turned the roast after the first hour, I had to add more sauce because it dried up in the pan. I'm sure there may be other people out there who would enjoy this recipe. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them. As a hint, double the sauce and add the second half when adding the vegetables.

Awesome Roast Beef

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2003
I made this recipe for Christmas dinner, and it was wonderful! The roast beef was so tender that I didn't have to slice it up for the guests. They were coming out of the slow cooker in serving sizes already. I poured the gravy into a gravy boat and served it all with mashed potatoes. Our small dinner party loved it! This is most definitely a keeper.

Garlicky Appetizer Shrimp Scampi

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2003
My brother made this recipe once and it was great. I tried it, and we both made it on the stove top, rather than over the grill as suggested. It left us with a great sauce in the pan, in which I cooked linguini and added to the recipe at the end. Awesome! Only thing was that I didn't have shallots on hand, so it wasn't as flavorful as the one my brother made, WITH the shallots. Wonderful recipe, nevertheless. My husband loved it with pasta, and he doesn't usually like pasta. I will definitely be making this recipe again!

Not such a bad recipe, although my husband wasn't as impressed. I'd make this recipe again, who cares what he thinks? He has to eat whatever I make anyway. =)

Chili con Carne III

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2002
This is one of the best recipes I've ever tasted. My husband made this. The only thing is that it was a little dry, so we added a small can of tomato sauce. To make it a little spicier we added some cayanne pepper. Otherwise, this is the best. My husband said that this recipe is a keeper! (And coming from him, it's a big compliment.)

Italian-French Toast

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2002
This recipe had no flavor. The first sandwhich I dipped in the milk and egg mixture was so soaked with it, that the middle part didn't cook and was mushy and disgusting. I'm sorry, but I'll never make this recipe again.
