Taco Seasoning Mix

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
Needed another packet of taco seasoning but couldn't get out to the store so I looked for one on the site. I found this one and made it. My family really liked it. I followed some reveiws that said to cut the salt to 1 tablespoon but my family felt it could have used more so I'm gonna add some to the container. I also added 3/4 cup of water per pound of meat instead of 1/3. I'm glad I doubled the recipe! Now I'll have it whenever I need.

I usaually read the reveiws before making something but I felt like this was a simple recipe so I didn't...I wish I did. I would have used more coffee.

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
These were a hit! I did add 1 teaspoon of vanilla and split the dough in two to make two circles. After slicing I sprinkled with some cinnamon sugar and baked. The whole family, from the three year old and up, really enjoyed them. Thanks for the recipe.

Chewy Crispy Coconut Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
My husband ate it off the baking tray and his comment was "the best coconut cookie I ever ate"!! I didn't use cornflakes but did add walnuts. I put the timer on for 8 minutes, half way through the baking i noticed they didn't flatten so I flattened them with a spoon and left them for the full 10 minutes. Next time I would leave them in for 8. They were good but crispy, not chewy.

Coconut Walnut Biscotti

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
I used "smart balance" instead of butter, cut the flour to 3 cups as suggested, and used vanilaa because I ddin't have coconut extract. They came out yummy but crumby. And the first batch I left in for 7 1/2 minutes on each side after i sliced them and they burnt. The second batch I left in for only 5 minutes per side which was better.

I liked it. Alittle too spicy but I enjoyed it. I tripled everything but the red pepper paste and it was still VERY spicy. But I liked it.

WOW! I had two small butternut sqaush so I used those and added two large acorn squash but kept everything else the same. It came out delicious!! The topping was very watery without the wafers but it still came out delicious! As my husband said "a definite repeater!".

Chewy Granola Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2008
These came out pretty good but we wanted more like "Nature Valley" granola bars. These were more like blondie brownies maybe because I used dark corn syrup instead of honey. I'll try honey next time and see how they come out. Thanks

Old Fashioned Onion Rings

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2006
A++ my daughter ate them as they were coming out of the fryer!! I used cornflake crumbs but no seasoned salt and they were still delicious. We even tried baking a few with cooking spray. We over cooked them a little so they were very crispy but but still yummy. I may try eggbeaters instead of egg next time to cut down on some fat.I was looking for a good onion ring recipe. A definite do again recipe. Thanks
