Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
I've made this recipe for years now and just reviewing/rating it now- You can't go wrong with this. It's simple! I followed the directions mostly *(didn't use the veggies- only 1 large vidallia onion I sliced and put under the chuck roast) browned first and then put in the crockpot for 8 hours on low. yum. house smells so good while it's cooking.

Creamy Chicken Dijon

Pretty simple chicken recipe. I used twice the amount of mustard (we love the mustard flavor). This recipe is in my usual rotation. I serve it over couscous/rice or angelhair pasta.

Penne with Spicy Vodka Tomato Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
This was an ok-sauce. It lacked a lot in the flavour department. I think next time I'll use more vodka and doctor it up a bit with more spices.

Fabulous Beef Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2012
This was great. I used extra butter and basted it during the cooking process. I also relied on a meat thermometer to let me know when it was medium-rare. I let it sit for about 1/2 hour after it was done cooking and then sliced it. I will make this again for sure. :)

Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing

5 star all the way. I made this for my family and they couldn't believe that I 'whipped this up'. Lol. I also scaled it down to make 6 servings and it came out great. Thank you.

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2011
Meatloaf haters must try this recipe! Holy cow! The whole family enjoyed this. I did swap out most of the ketchup for A1 sauce and used a monterey cheese. It took about 50 minutes to cook. 5 star all the way!

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2011
The first day I made this, I thought it was just 'ok'. I cooked it on LOW for 9 hours...The next day it was 2x's as good...also, next time I think I will use 2 packets of seasoning, and not just 1.

Tangy Dill Potato Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
This was just OK. Nothing blew me away by it. I DO love the fresh dill in it- nice touch, but it was mediocre to say I'd put it in a rotation here at home. I also subbed 1/2 mayo 1/2 reduced fat sour cream...

Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2011
Pretty standard pasta salad recipe. I used a 'bacon-ranch' flavor of salad dressing mix and turkey bacon. This came out good. I didn't add olives, as we don't care for them, but I would add them next time if I was bringing this to a potluck or gathering. 4.5 stars.

Sausage Stuffed Jalapenos

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2011
HOLY COW...this was sooo good. Usually in the past I've made bacon wrapped jalopenos (also, on Allrecipes.com) and they've always been a hit..very tasty. I saw this recipe and thought it'd be nice to change it up some. So glad I did! This is now my new stand-by for appetizers for watching the football game (GO BLUE!). Made the recipe as is, and used spicy pork sausage.

Creamy Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2011
So easy and delicious. I added a dash of worschesire to this and a little parpika. Everyone loved it. *edit 11/13/11- I've made this many times since my first review...and it always comes out so delicious. My father in law asked for the recipe as he gets sick of making just meatballs, sloppy joes, or tacos with ground beef. Sometimes I use a dijon or deli style mustard for kick. Five star all the way!! **EDIT 12/24/11 I tried this with ground turkey that was on sale and it also was really good! Love this reciipe.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2011
Very good. Could use more seasoning though...I also used cream of CHICKEN instead of mushroom as my family preferred it...Chops were moist and tasty...will make again...there were NO leftovers. UPDATE: made this again on Friday and seasoned with lawry's seasoned salt and used fresh cracked pepper. 5 star recipe now...so moist!

The Best Meatballs

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2011
Hands down the tastiest meatballs ever. I slightly modified by using 1lb of beef and 1lb of pork, as I had no veal on hand. I also baked at 350, instead of frying.

Pork Roast With The World's Best Pork Loin Rub

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
So tasty, and at first I was kind of iffy on how it would taste. Pork tenderloin was on sale and instead of having my husband do it the usual way (with a jack daniels marinade)I found this recipe. I had 2 3/4# of boneless tenderloin. I used 1 c of brown sugar...totally left out the white sugar...scared it'd be too sweet. didn't have onion powder so i chopped up some onions and put them on top of the pork while it roasted. I also was out of thyme and added a bit of corriander. I rubbed this on, let it sit for 1/2 hour and then baked at 325 for about 45 minutes in a roasting rack. Shut off the oven and let it sit for about 15 minutes before i took it out of the oven and sliced it. VERY moist....and it most certainly had some 'kick' to it. My 15 year old liked it, but I knew the 4 year old wouldn't even try it..so I didn't bother. My husband loved it and demanded I make it again. lol. Which I will. It was a nice combo of sweet and hot...which I'm not used to...Thank you for sharing this recipe. :)

Baked Soy Lemon Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
Delicious! I used 1/4c soy and 1/4c water, and it wasn't salty at all. Very moist, which makes me happy- my chops always are dry. Next time i'll use more lemon juice. Thanks!

Sausage Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
WOW. so good and easy to make......I used 3/4 a bag of frozen hashbrowns (which i pan fried for maybe 5-7 mins) instead of the potatoes...and only 1/4 cup of milk, since i did not want it soupy. I baked 350 for 30 minutes and then sprinkled a bit more cheese on top and baked an extra 5 mins til brown. This is going to be the 'Christmas Morning' breakfast recipe...yes, I'm making it again in 2 days...thank you for sharing:)****update: Xmas morning, still a hit. I prepared this the night before and then put it in the oven once we were up. still soooo good. :)

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2010
Nice recipe...just enough 'kick' to it. Next time I think I'll add these to an arrabiata sauce, or as others noted, make meatball subs w/some provolone. I also subbed 1/2 c of ricotta cheese, as I had some to use up...Will make again:)

Maria's Stuffed Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
Needed more seasoning....and like others said, wayyy less ricotta/spinach mixture. I ended up using only 1/2. It was a good base...you just need to jazz it up some. I'd add hot pepper flakes...maybe breadcrumbs to the chicken breasts itself...more garlic.

Slow Cooker Kielbasa and Beer

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2010
This is perfect the way it is...I wouldn't change a thing! I always use a Sam Adams beer...boston lager, pale ale, whatever we have on hand, and it turns out sooo nice. I tried before with heinken and it was ok, not as flavourful. 5 stars, thanks to Jbbach!
