Excellent recipe.. I dont lessen the water, but I do add 2 potatoes (diced) towards the end of cooking to help give it a little starch and thicken it to more of a stew. I am not a celery fan, so I use 1 tsp celery seed in place of celery. If you have a good meaty ham hock you dont need to add any more ham! YUM. good comfort food

deliscious!!! I left out the water chestnuts. i increased the garlic, and used real garlic cloves= 4 cloves. as close to restaurant as i have tried

Easy Indian Butter Chicken

This is an excellent recipe!!!.... This was delish!... The only change I made was that i lightly buttered then dusted the chicken with flour before browning. I then placed the browned chicken in a crock on low to finish cooking and kept the sauce warm separately. I did not have any garam masala, so simply used ground peppercorns and nutmeg to substitute.. It was a hit! Next time I will serve over rice.
