Colcannon

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2011
Beautiful color. I think I will try more potatoes & fewer leeks next round. The only flavor that was coming through was onion. I dumped in sour cream afterwards to smoothe out the taste.

Everyone liked this. Have made it as a dinner for company. Super easy, too. Would give it a 6 if possible.

Honey Cranberry Oat Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
I made this into muffins. Due to the other reviews remarking on dryness, I added about 3/4 cup of sour cream & they were fine.

Bitter taste of dry herb flakes in tomato paste. Won't make again.

Pudding-Topped Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2010
Excellent. Lovely & yummy. Will definitely make again, except I'll leave out the grapes as their skins interupted the smoothness of the other fruit. I used canned peaches & added canned pears & mandarin oranges. I cut everything small.

Braided Easter Egg Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2010
The eggs were real pretty but the bread was basic white bread. If I try this again, I will use honey.

Broken Glass Torte

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
There wasn't enough butter for the crumbs to stick together. The jello crumbled as it was being mixed so it was not as pretty as I'd hoped. I probably won't bother with the crust next time.

Wild Rice Stuffing for Turkey

Lost a start for ugly appearance. Both my husband & his picky daughter went for seconds. I did throw in some chopped carrots for color. Will make again.

Prime Rib Au Jus with Yorkshire Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
These were fun to watch in the oven. I used 9 eggs. The puddings were yummy with the meat juice. This recipe will make about 20. Do NOT overfill muffin tin. The smoke billowing from the fat that overflowed was not appetizing.

Foolproof Rib Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
I think my 9 pound roast was too big to get cooked enough by this method. We wound up cooking slices in the microwave so we wouldn't have to serve it bloody. It did taste good. I would try this method again with a 2 rib instead of a 4 rib roast.
