I'm a court reporter by occupation, but honestly, my passion is cooking. I was fortunate enough to be very close to my grandmother (Mimi) growing up, who was a fabulous cook. Luckily, she was also a very patient lady who gave me a firm cooking foundation upon which to build.
My favorite things to cook
People LOVE my pies, which makes it fun to make them! I love to make comfort food in the winter and I love to grill in the summer. Also, I really enjoy canning. There's nothing better than to can your own peach pie filling and make a delicious peach pie in the middle of January!
My favorite family cooking traditions
As for cooking traditions, our family has always cooked together. It's not so important what you cook, but that time in the kitchen with your kids is priceless!
My cooking triumphs
I learned how to can at the age of 37! It's something I saw my friend's mom do when I was very young, but no one in my family ever canned anything. I started with sour cherry jam and went from there. I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks!
My cooking tragedies
Cooking tragedies... I tried to make homemade doughnuts when I was about 20 years old and newly married. We lived in a very small apartment with a tiny kitchen. I still don't know what happened, but the doughnuts were hard as rocks and there was flour all over the kitchen and grease all over the stove by the time I was done. However, I have since made some pretty tasty batches of doughnuts. :)

Fresh Sugar Pumpkin Pie
After looking at hundreds of recipes, I decided to try this one. After I made a pie with this recipe, I promptly went to the store to buy several more fresh pie pumpkins to cook, puree and freeze so that I could enjoy this pie whenever I wanted. It is unlike any other pumpkin pie. The MOST DELICIOUS pumpkin pie I've ever eaten! Thank you so very much for sharing this awesome recipe!

I made this to use as a filling for crepes with fresh strawberries. So decadent! YUM! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe! I will be using it many more times. :)

Clark's Quiche
I've made this recipe more times than I can count! I use the basic recipe and change up the vegetables and meat, depending on what I'm in the mood for. For something even more special, I use puff pastry dough, cut into small squares and put into cupcake pans for individual quiches. Perfect to serve at a tea or bridal shower!
