Berry Trifle

Reviewed: May 9, 2011
This is so refreshing! I left out the praline liquer (didn't have any) and used angel food cake mix instead of pound cake (just a personal preference), but followed the rest of the recipe exactly. It wasn't too sweet, very light and airy. Make sure to make it the day before so the frozen berries have time to thaw and drip all over the cake pieces. It's a great summertime dessert and looks beautiful too!

Best Beef Dip Ever

Reviewed: May 9, 2011
We've been making this for two years now. It is so good and extremely quick and easy to make. I follow the recipe exactly, toast some hoagie buns with provolone cheese on them, and pile with the meat that has been pulled apart with a fork. Very good!

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: May 9, 2011
This is a wonderful dip! You can make it spicier by adding more jalapenos (I wouldn't add more chilies). Made as directed, with the exception of adding jalapenos and served with sliced baguette bread and wheat thins. Everyone loved it!

Eclair Cake

Reviewed: May 9, 2011
This is so good! I had a dessert like this a month or so ago and googled for the recipe as soon as I got home. It really is like a chocolate glazed eclair donut. I followed the recipe exactly, made the dessert 20 hours in advance and it was perfection!! I'm making it again this week for a game night. Thanks!

Smoky Four Cheese Macaroni Bake

Reviewed: May 9, 2011
This was just ok. The flavor of that liquid smoke is very overpowering and not at all what I wanted to taste in my macaroni and cheese.

This is a fantastic recipe. It is incredibly quick and easy to prepare and it tastes wonderful. I made the recipe just as written and wouldn't change a thing!

Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
I made this for the first time Christmas morning. It was soooo easy and turned out wonderfully. I only used 2 grands biscuits cans, as someone else suggested. It was the perfect amount for 8 of us. I think the only thing that may be better is to layer the butter/sugar mix with the biscuits instead of pouring it all over the top. But what a fantastic recipe and so quick and easy!

Four Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
This was really good. I made it for Christmas dinner and prepared it the day before and then baked it Christmas day. I actually think I liked it better before it got baked. It was sooo creamy and cheesy, we couldn't stop taking little bites. Maybe letting it sit overnight made the creaminess disappear, but it still tasted wonderful. I didn't have muenster cheese so I used a colby-jack mix. I also doubled all the shredded cheese amounts as hubby is a cheese lover! I've been looking for a homemade mac n cheese recipe for awhile and I think this one is a keeper!

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
This had a decent flavor but the cottage cheese really threw the texture off and made it look very strange. I could never serve something that looked like this. Back to the search for mac and cheese.

Chocolate Mint Candies Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
VERY good! I must say, though, I almost threw these out. I followed the directions perfectly, refrigerated for one hour...and it was still very wet. There was no way I was forming balls out of that dough. So I put it back in the refrigerator for another hour or so and it was better, but still not rollable. I spooned them onto the cookie sheet like a regular cookie and baked them. They came out big and flat as a pancake! Tasted alright, but did not look pretty at all. I threw those cookies out and luckily stuck the dough in the fridge overnight. Tried again the next morning. Rolled my little balls, baked for 8 minutes and voila! They came out perfect. I melted 1/2 the Andes mint on each cookie, swirled it with a spoon and let them harden on the counter. They tasted just like a Girl Scout Thin Mint, except they were chewy, which was awesome. Definitely making these again, but I'll plan to leave the dough in the fridge overnight from now on.

Chocolate Caramel Candy

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2008
This was soooo yummy! Everyone loved them. The only thing I have to disagree with is that it doesn't really taste like Snickers. But it's its own fantastic taste! I skipped the spray and used parchment paper instead. Just take the whole batch out of the pan, flip upside down and peel the paper off. I followed the recipe exaclty. It's a lot of steps and a bit time consuming but it's so worth it and got rave reviews. Definitely a keeper.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2008
This was ok. Decent enough flavor, although I don't think it was spicy at all. So if you like spicy, you'll need to add more than the recipe calls for. And I was expecting this to be creamier and it was actually very watery. But the flavor itself was decent.

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies IV

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
My husband asked me to make White Choc Macadamia Nut Cookies one night, something I haven't tried before. I chose this recipe and it was fantastic! I've made them twice in the last month and they got rave reveiws and disappeared quickly both times. Very simple to make and I didn't change a single thing to the original recipe. Thanks for sharing!

Big Al's K.C. Bar-B-Q Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
This sauce is absolutely fantastic! I don't think I'll ever use store bought sauce again. We eat it all the time with pork BBQ and I can't wait to have it on grilled chicken or ribs. It's very very easy to make and so good! The perfect compliment of sweet and spice. Thanks so much for sharing!

Baked Beans, Texas Ranger

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2008
I have been using this recipe for a couple years now, at least, and thought I'd finally rate it. These are fantastic. I use 3 cans of baked beans, not just one. I omit the bell pepper and cayenne and use ground sausage instead of links and then follow everything else to a T. They are spicy enough for a little kick, but not too spicy! I have gotten many many compliments over the years and been asked for the recipe several times. It's a staple in our house for cookouts and potlucks and always will be.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2008
This was the BEST! I took others' advice and used 1/2 oil, 1/2 applesauce, 1 cup whitesugar, 1 cup brown sugar, added nutmeg and extra cinnamon, used walnuts instead of pecans. I made this in 2 round cake pans, baked at 350 for 35 minutes and they were perfect!! I did not make the frosting in this recipe, I used a different cream cheese frosting from this site. The only change I will make next time is to cut back on the walnuts a bit and NOT add them into the frosting. This was very dense and moist and full of flavor.

Honey Bun Cake I

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2008
This was sooo yummy, although I think it is better as a breakfast cake than a dessert. I followed the recipe exactly but used a greased and floured bundt pan (baked for 55 mins). Next time I will mix all the ingredients together instead of layering. The reason I gave it 4 stars is that my glaze did not come out the way others' did in their pictures. It slid down the cake immediately and gathered at the bottom. Still tasted great though!!

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
I've never made fudge before and this came out perfectly. The only change I made was to use 1 1/2 cups each of the semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips. It was so smooth and rich and creamy. Easy to make too! Thanks.

Spicy Oven Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
Like so many other reviews, the breading just wouldn't stay on. We dipped it in bread and tried not to move it much while browning, but it just fell apart. The flavor was only ok and they were not good at all leftover.

Italian Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
Traditional grilled cheese on the stove is much better. The crust on these were way too crunchy and dry.
