About this Cook
I love having a great big party with way too much to eat. If you leave my house hungry, it's your own fault. I will put ANYTHING on the grill, and currently own 4 grills. My wife threatened to leave if I buy another one.
My favorite things to cook
Whole pig roast on the grill! Burritos, Baked cheesey potatos, buffalo wings, Lamb with 5 mushrooms. Mango salsa. Garlic bread. Fresh pesto. I love just opening up the fridge and winging it, you neve know what will turn up. I also am a HUGE fan of the crock pot. throw it in in the morning, go to work, come home and dinner is ready - brilliant! Anytime I cook for a crowd.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Annual pig roast. Saurkraut. Grilled thanksgiving turkey. Jello, yeah I said it, jello. I love jello. Grandmothers cookies. Grilled pork loin. My wifws Garlic mashed potatos. Tailgating before University of Maryland football games - Go Terps!
My cooking triumphs
Every time I do a pig on the grill. I learn something every year. The 6 bone prime rib I did on the grill, I don't think I'll ever top that.
My cooking tragedies
Most of mine involve Waaaayyyyyy too much hot sauce or garlic. I'm also not very good at doing tomato sauce, mine never turns out quite right. I don't bake, my wife is in charge of all dessert and bread baking

Rolled Dumplings
I made these to cook in pork stock instead of chicken broth, and added fresh sage, rosemary and thyme from my garden. They came out excellent.

Butternut Squash Risotto
This was very good. I added some baby bella mushrooms to it right at the very end of cooking. I think its important to use good fresh parmesan cheese as well, not that stuff in a can.
