Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2014
Fantastic... Made for neighborhood court party and everyone loved it! Made a changes... some because I didn't have all ingredients on hand and some because I just can't leave a recipe alone! That said, I think this is a keeper and will be making often!!

Brie Cheese Pizza

Was a little disappointed with this... which I hate to say because I was super excited to try it and I really wanted it to work!! I'll try again with a few modifications and see what happens. It truly sounds like a great app ~ I want it to work!

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2014
This did not go over well with my family at all. Bland - no zip in the flavor of chicken - actually just seemed to "bog" down the whole pasta thing anyway. Won't be making this again.

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2014
I agree with previous ratings... the best part of this recipe is the baking in the oven part. I did that and then used my own BBQ recipe and they were tender, juicy, falling off the bone and yum yum yum!

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2014
OMG - this totally rocked the frikken house! I made it for a staff meeting and it was GONE before the meeting was over. It truly is the best recipe I've ever come across for chili. You must use all of the ingredients... because the layer upon layer of flavor that you get from each one is incredible. It's labor intensive, just a bit...but ohhhhhhhh so worth it!!

Prize Winning Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2012
only giving this 3 stars because of the changes i would make to recipe to suit a different flavor profile. too much cumin/chili powder/paprika ... just overpowers really. i ended up putting in brown sugar to cut the intensity of the other flavors. also, i did as others had suggested and baked these in the oven for about 90 min @ 350' before searing bbq on the grill. they were fall off the bone tender and aside from the dry rub ... very very good. we managed to scrape some of the rub off, which made them better. next time, i will use something all together different for the dry rub - i definitely think they need something while baking - just not this one in particular.

Tomato, Corn and Avocado Salsa

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2012
This was a great, fresh alternative to "everyday" salsa ... full of flavor, great with chips, and I've used it since as a topping for fish. With a little creativity, you can tweak this to make it your own - either more or less spicy ... more corn, etc. It went over HUGE at the party I took it to. That's all I need to see with a recipe to make it a "keeper".

Filet Mignon with Bacon Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2011
Really only made the bacon cream sauce and it was wonderful. When I told my husband what I was making he made a funny face and wasn't so sure about it. After eating it though, he was a big big fan.

Easy Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2011
Made these for an early morning staff meeting and they LOVED them! Disappeared in minutes. I made 3 different versions... mushroom, bacon & cheddar, spinach, artichoke & swiss and roasted red pepper, black kalmata olives & smoked gouda cheese. Use your imagination...these are a great "go to" that are easy for you to make yet easy to impress those eating them!

Mascarpone Stuffed French Toast with Peaches

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2011
Loved the idea of this recipe, it sounds very warm and comforting. Tried it this morning for daughter's birthday brunch. While they all said they enjoyed it and that it was good... I was a little less impressed. Used the bread suggested and I don't know, just seemed to much bread to filling ratio. I will make again but making a few changes. Probably will try Texas toast and making a sandwich version before frying in a pan. Peach topping was very good and could see other toppings being just as good.

Bacon Cheese Puffs

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2010
These were simple and fast to make. Acutally made the "cheese and bacon mix" ahead of time which made it even easier day of .... They tasted fine, am thinking the pumpernickle bread is a little too strong for mildness of cheese mix. Next time may try plain crostini or even warm cheese mix in crock pot and use as a dip versus topping. Will make again but will make changes beforehand.

Caprese Burger

great alternative to the typical boring burger! i added a few things which is why i only gave it 4 starts, i deviated from the original recipe quite a bit. i added itialian bread crumbs, roasted red peppers drained, and a few sprigs of fresh oregano. my friend and her daughter over for supper loved them...and her daughter is only 3!!! i put these on toasted ciabatta rolls...YUM

Creamy Lemon Pie

great flavor, easy enough to prepare and went over very well at easter dinner! i did add a little extra lemon juice based on other reviews and i think this made a difference... also, used a vanilla wafer crust instead of graham cracker.

Slow-Cooked Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2010
this was awesome, i did change it quite a bit though ... i used beef stew chunks instead of grounch beef, i added a whole chopped jalapeno, and a small can of chopped green chilis. let it cook on slow crock pot for 10 hours... YUM!! beef melted in your mouth, i took some into work and it was gone in seconds!
