Avocado, Tomato and Mango Salsa

Reviewed: May 28, 2013
We loved this salsa! I followed the recipe exactly and honestly thought it would need "something" - I was wrong. Perfect as is!

Yummy! The addition of the guava rum & OJ really made this different. We definitely enjoyed them.

Light Delight Sauza®-Rita

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2013
This margarita was WAY too sweet for our tastes. I made simple syrup using Splenda Granulated (1:1 ratio with water) which could possibly have made a difference. This was the first time I really appreciated the salt on the rim of the glass. It should be noted also that the ingredient list just says simple syrup, but the directions note sugar-free simple syrup, and I don't know that sugar-free is readily available for purchase, meaning you would have to make your own.

Loved, Loved, Loved this Margarita! I used a "light" (4 cal/serving) margarita mix. Absolutely De-Lish!

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Fantastic! I've made this recipe a lot & had to give it out even more. I always do the panko/parm topping and bake in the oven. This is Always a big hit!

Bowties with Italian Sausage in a Cream Basil Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2013
De-lish! I used Half & Half for the cream and a can of diced tomatoes, drained. Also, I didn't have quite enough fresh basil, so I also added a little dried - believe me when I say I'm no fresh vs. dried herb snob, but the Fresh Basil really made the difference. I will definitely make this again. I really love the "light" consistency of the sauce with the tomato & basil. Thanks, Johnsonville Kitchens!

Chiliville Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2013
Very tasty! I mis-read the ingredients before going to the store, so I had to improvise on the tomatoes - used 1 (14.5oz) can of diced tomatoes with onion, celery & bell pepper along with 3 (10oz) cans of diced tomatoes with green chilis - but I really doubt that made much of a difference. I used the Johnsonville Hot Italian Sausage and I did simmer for a longer time (probably an hour), but only because we were't ready to eat. Everyone really loved this chili!

Sugar Snap Peas

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2013
Very good & super easy. I used finely diced onion & a clove of minced garlic in place of the shallot and about 1/4t dried sage (not the powder). I'm not really even a fan of snap peas, but will definitely make these again.

Glazed Meatloaf II

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2013
Delicious! I subbed 1 pkg (19oz) Johnsonville (R) Hot Italian Sausage for 1lb of the ground beef and baked in a muffin tin @ 375 for 30 min. Very moist & the sausage really added a nice depth of flavor. This recipe's a real keeper!

Flaming Slow Cooker Pork

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2013
This was quite tasty - With some adjustments - I think very few could really enjoy it as written. I used 16oz of Medium salsa (that brand that's NOT made in New York City), which is pretty hot in its own right, only 3 of the chipotle peppers in adobo, the can of chilis & the lime. Once cooked, all we could really taste was HOT. I drained most of the juice (as that's where most of the heat was), then added a little mild salsa, adobo seasoning and a dash of worcestershire and let it go for another hour or so. The result was quite tasty, I have to admit, and I think we'd do it again, maybe use just the adobo sauce & pull out the peppers?

Roast with Gravy

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2013
Wow!Pot roast is one of my all-time favorites. I've tried numerous recipes and they've all bee good. This one, however, is IT! Absolutely Delicious! I used a top round roast & dried basil. After browning the meat & sauteing the onions & garlic, I deglazed the pan with the coffee & transferred everything to a crockpot. I let it cook on low while I was at work. When I got home, I just removed the roast to another dish, then poured the jus into a pot on the stove, stirred in the flour/water mix & let it thicken. The gravy was truly To Die For! I've found my new definite Go-To recipe! Oh, and I did use dried basil as well.

Fruity Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2013
Really, really delicious! Followed the recipe exactly only adding a little garlic to the marinade. I did use a black cherry soda. While it is sweet, it certainly wasn't overpowering (actually not as sweet as I had expected). Crust turned out beautifully and the pork was cooked to perfection. This is a keeper recipe for us for sure!

Grandwich Breakfast Sandwiches

How can you go wrong with this? Texture is certainly better with regular bacon (not microwave/precooked). Delicious with a fried egg and cheddar cheese as well.

Chicken Alfredo Biscuit Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2013
We definitely enjoyed this. For our tastes, it definitely needed more seasoning - garlic, onion powder, S&P. Biscuits were brown on top, but not cooked through at 20min, so I covered with foil for another 5 & they were good to go. Instead of just broccoli, I used a broccoli, cauliflower carrot mix & added some chopped fresh spinach just because be eaten. I'm sure any veggie combo would work fine.

We really liked these. They were fun to make and even more fun to eat. Not as "over-the-top" delicious as I was hoping, but definitely will be made again at our house.

Really quite good. I have to admit I didn't expect much from this - was just trying to use up leftover holiday ham - but I definitely enjoyed it. The cheese sauce really is delicious. Thanks, Jodster - this one's a keeper!

Moist and Savory Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2012
We all definitely enjoyed this stuffing. I used more celery and onion than called for, and sauteed those in a couple tablespoons of butter before adding the broth & boiling. This certainly won't replace our family's holiday stuffing/dressing, but for a week-night dinner, it's a keeper.

Campbell's® Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2012
All of my family really enjoyed this! When other people have made it for me, it always seemed too "soupy" but ours didn't turn out that way - it may be because I accidentally added all of the fried onions to the mix at the beginning (which I'll do again). For a twist, I also used the cheddar-flavored fried onions. Again, well-received by all.
