About this Cook
Hi!! Me??? Wow, let's see. I am the Mom of 4 grown sons. The grandmother of 4 beautiful grand children ranging in age from 6 years to 20 years. I am the compliance supervisor for a major transportation company. I live in the country with my 5 Australian Cattle dogs and my 3 horses and of course, my new husband!! I am recently remarried after 8 years being divorced. I am blessed by life and family and learned to cook at my Grandmother's and Mother's side. My style of cooking is "down home" and nothing makes me happier that having my family gathered around the table together, counting our blessings and eating "country food".
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy all types of cooking. I learned to cook with a very special ingredient that cannot be bought. It is called, love.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When my sons were growing up, they all cooked with me. So today, they all come home and each has his specialty according to which season it happens to be. It is fun to hear and see them competing to see who can outdo the other. It is sometimes messy, and there has been a few catastrophies, but in all it sure does make for great memories and some excellent "inventions"!
My cooking triumphs
The first time I made a perfect souffle'!!
My cooking tragedies
My one and only time to use a pressure cooker. It blew up and turnip greens were hanging from the ceiling like spanish moss off the live oak trees in Louisiana!! Another time I made "ground nut stew". It was out of a magazine and sounded different but filling. Well, my dogs wouldn't even eat it and my family will not let me forget how bad it was!

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches
Try adding 2 envelopes of Lipton beefy onion soup and 3 cups of beer to the water, along with the salad dressing. Leave all of the other seasonings out and add some pepperoncini (to taste) in the last few hours. Easy and very very flavorable. It is a family and friend favorite. I do brown and season my roast before adding to slow cooker. It seals the juices in.

Crawfish in Red Sauce
I made this with Crawfish tails and shrimp also. It is rich and has a definite "Nahlins" flavor!I did spice it a bit, but only because we like our seafood dishes, with a little "heat". One side thought. This site is meant for constructive comments and information. After all,we are trying to help each other feed our families good and tasty meals. Silly reviews do nothing to promote the good will that this site is all about. Good will and Good food!!
