Parmesan Puffs

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2005
Not bad! Easy to make, too. My husband could only eat two before he got tired of the Parmesan flavor. I tried dipping them in leftover spaghetti sauce, and could only taste the sauce. I probably wouldn't make them on a regular basis, but they'd be fine for every once in a while! Maybe next time I'll add some garlic powder. =)

Tantalizingly Tangy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2005
This was VERY easy to make! I really liked it and will make it again! I only gave it 4 stars because the topping was too sweet for my husband, but he liked the rest of it fine.

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2005
These turned out really well! They taste very similar - if not exactly like - the ones at Red Lobster. I worked at one for over 3 years, so I've had my share! =)

Gooey Marshmallow Chocolate Chip Cinnamon Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2005
Hmmm...well, these were interesting to say the least! I had some trouble getting them off of the cookie sheet (due to the baked on marshmallow). I think I baked the entire 20 minutes...maybe I took them out a little sooner. They tended to fall apart as I was removing them to a rack to cool. The end result was a decent tasting cookie. They hold together much better once they've cooled.

Cinnabun Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2005
The bottom line is: these cookies are very tasty! I did have some trouble with rolling them up, but managed. They weren't the prettiest cookies I've ever made, but delicious all the same. I would agree to double the cinnamon/brown sugar mixture. I had the better luck with removal when I used a baking stone. I will absolutely make them again! So what if they don't look perfect? =)

Oven Stew with Burgundy Wine

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2005
Overall, this was really good! I would agree that you would need to AT LEAST double the amounts of water and burgundy. I covered it tightly, and didn't use too big of a casserole, but it still got dried out (fortunately, it was still good!). I also added a couple of cut up potatoes. Next time I will also decrease the meat to maybe 1 or 1 1/2 pounds, and add more veggies.

Maple Bacon Pancake

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2004
I made this for breakfast on Christmas morning for myself, my husband, and our twin sons. My husband thought it was great! It reminded me of those McGriddles from McDonalds. I don't like those much, but this did taste better. Next time I might leave out the maple syrup, and sprinkle the bacon on before I cook it. It would be good with part of the bacon added to the batter, too!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2003
I made this for dinner tonight. This was my first real attempt at making pizza crust from scratch and it turned out very well (give myself a pat on the back!). I do agree with some of the other reviewers that the crust itself was bland...but then again, what are we expecting? It's pizza crust for pete's sake! Next time I'm going to try adding italian seasoning and maybe parmesan cheese to the dough when kneading. I bet that would be good! Thanks for the recipe, Jason!

Christmas Wreaths

Reviewed: May 2, 2003
I first made these in the 3rd grade with my classmates - our teacher taught us how to make them. I've made them for many Christmases since! You can also make one big wreath, or mix in the cinnimon candies, and drop spoonfuls on the waxed paper to make "holly bushes". Also, you can also keep the mixture warm in a slow cooker while you're shaping the wreaths.

Cinnamon Toast

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2003
Up until a minute ago, I had taken it for granted that EVERYONE knew what cinnamon toast was - and had always eaten it just as I have. I guess I was wrong! =) All three of us kids grew up eating cinnamon toast, mainly as a bedtime snack (with chocolate milk), but also for breakfast. I was fascinated by the reveiwer who said they never even heard of it until a year ago! I'm glad you now have the chance to enjoy it! It's so easy! We always just have a shaker of cinnamon sugar made up ahead of time. Very quick, easy, and delicious!

Amazing Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2003
It made an easy, quick dinner! My husband was a bit skeptical from looking at the ingredients, but enjoyed it. I didn't bother with measuring the ingredients....I just spread some mayo on the ckicken, and then coated with crumbs until it looked about right. Next time I may cut up the chicken into bite sized pieces, toss them in mayo, then toss them in the crumbs. Thanks for the recipe!!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2002
How many bananas does it take to make 2 1/3 cups? I used four (didn't measure), since that was what I had on hand. The banana bread turned out really good. =) I didn't find it to be any different than your average banana bread, but it tasted yummy just the same. =)

Beef and Noodle Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2002
We made the following changes: 1)We only had a 1/2lb ground beef and 4oz of Velveeta, so we just halved the recipe. To make up for the missing cheese, we sliced up a bit of regular sharp cheddar. 2)We used rainbow rotini pasta. 3)We added some instant minced onion while we were browning the beef (I always do!). Even though we halved the recipe, and used a small baking dish, we couldn't see how to layer everything twice. We ended up just layering the pasta, beef, sauce, then cheese only ONCE. We were skeptical on how it would taste, but we actually liked it more than we thought we would! We both agreed we would make it again. My husband was the one to take it out of the oven, and he mentioned that as he was scooping it out, it was rather watery on the bottom (I didn't get the chance to look). I wonder if it was from the sauce. The ingredients say spaghetti sauce, but the directions say tomato sauce. If you use spaghetti sauce, I would suggest getting a quality brand - good and thick! We may add some garlic to the browning beef next time! Good recipe! Easy and quick!

Peanut Butter and Banana French Toast

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2002
Hmmm...perhaps it's just me, but I only found it ok. I didn't use any syrup or powdered sugar (how I had french toast growing up), so maybe that would've helped. I do think that 2 tbsp of melted butter to cook it in is WAY too much - made it too greasy fo me. I might try it again, tho.

Cinnamon Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2002
Well, my husband and I were able to eat it, but I don't think I will be making it again as written. I didn't even end up using all the spices - I had mixed them together and then sprinkled them on, and ended up having to throw some of the spices out because there was so much left over. Maybe it would be better if the chicken had been dipped in melted butter first...or melted butter mixed with the spices...or a mayo mixture combined with the spices. Dry chicken with just dry spices on top just isn't our thing, I guess.

Irish Cream Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2002
Oh wow!!! This was soooo yummy! My only drawback was that when I tried to take it out of the pan, it broke apart, but that was probably my fault (sometimes my cake comes out perfectly, sometimes it doesn't!). It was still incredibly delicious! I left out the nuts because I don't care for them. I will definaltly make this again!! **UPDATE: I made this for a get-together last night and I realized that I put 3/4 cup of Irish Cream in the glaze instead of 1/4 cup. It still turned out delicious!!!
