Caramel-Mallow Treats™

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
I didn't find these to be anything special. I thought they would be more caramel-y, but they basically tasted pretty much like classic rice krispie bars.

Bacon Quiche

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2010
Pretty good! Easy to make. I'm not sure if it's my oven, or if this is just how quiche is, but I couldn't get a knife to come out completely clean when testing for doneness.

Very good! Next time I may try Beefy Onion soup mix and add mushrooms!

Cheese and Bacon-Stuffed Pasta Shells

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2010
I had high hopes, but it just didn't work out. I thought the taste of the tomato puree was way overpowering. Using spaghetti sauce instead would've been a much better choice for our family. I subbed Italian seasoning for the rosemary since I don't care for it, and couldn't find Buffalo mozz so I used shredded. Nearly burned it since it was shredded and not chopped! (oops!!) I didn't have near enough filling for the pasta shells. Bummed, bummed, bummed. How many shells has everyone else used? I weighed out 8 oz but it was too many for the amount of filling.

Savory Crescent Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2010
So good and SO EASY! The only issues I had were the dough popping open when trying to make the bundles, but once they were cooked it didn't seem to matter. Also - instead of 1/2 cup chicken mixture use 1/3 cup. There isn't enough of the filling to use a 1/2 cup in each, but 1/3 cup was perfect. Thanks for sharing!

Mom's Hearty Beef Stew with Dumplings

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
Was very good! I left out the turnip since I couldn't find one at the store. The sauce/gravy was a bit runnier than I've had in other stews, but yet not thin enough to call it more of a "soup". We enjoyed this - thanks!

Angela's Awesome Enchiladas

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2010
This was pretty good! Took some time to make (there must be an easier way to shred chicken!), but my husband really liked it. I left out the green chilies and the olives. Next time I'll use a name brand enchilada sauce instead of generic! ;)

Honey-Garlic Angel Hair

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2010
Hmm. This didn't really do a lot for us. My husband didn't care for the sweetness, and I found it to be rather oily.

Italian Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2010
Eh. It was ok. I goofed and added the melted butter to the rice (which probably helped the flavor).

Chicken 'n' Biscuits

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2009
Was ok. The biscuits didn't rise very high for me. Also - don't forget the chicken has to be cooked first! I did use the bacon, but it still lacked flavor.

World's Best Cream Cheese and Pineapple Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
I ended up using only 1 cup of pineapple because I didn't realize that I didn't have enough (note: two 20 oz. cans will get you 2 cups after it's drained!). It was still pretty good! Something different...I didn't find the garlic overpowering at all. I took it to a party last night and noticed that those who tried it came back for more. :)

Turkey Tetrazzini II

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
Easy to make and very tasty! UPDATE: This is the 2nd time I've made it and for some reason it was very dry. I'm wondering if I should reduce the amount of pasta and/or cover the casserole while cooking until I want the top to brown.

Tacos in Pasta Shells

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2009
Made this last night and it was really good! I would agree with the reviewer that it needs twice as much taco sauce than called for - will remember that next time. And there WILL be a next time! :) UPDATE: Ok - so I used a whole 16 oz. bottle of taco sauce. I always have too much meat mixture for the shells, so I arranged/ topped the rest on and around the shells. Also used a combo of crushed regular and cool ranch Doritos. We topped it with light sour cream before eating. Yum!

Goulash Supreme

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
Like others, I found it rather bland. I added some salt and that didn't really help. I also wasn't sure how long to let it simmer, since the macaroni was put in raw. I probably won't make it again, but keep looking for a goulash recipe that suits our family.

Whole Wheat Blueberry Pancakes

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2009
Very good! My three kids love blueberry pancakes, but they are very picky eaters and I was worried that they would reject these due to the whole wheat. No need to worry! Even one of my sons - who eats them plain (no butter or syrup) ate heartily!

Easy Weeknight Tuna Pot Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2009
This was really good. I baked it for the minimum time (11 min) and thought it had a pretty golden crust. When I cut into it I saw that the crescent dough was still somewhat gooey underneath, so definitely add a few more minutes. I threw it back in the oven for a bit and now I think it's fine. Very easy!! :)
