Baked Tortilla Chips

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2010
The only drawback was not having enough baking sheets to make a big batch all at once. They went fast.

Spicy Rapid Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2010
I followed the instructions of another user by the name of "dovelette" - except, I had a whole chicken that was 6 lbs, so the after the remaining time, I turned down the oven to 350 F for about another 45 min. Turned out great

Dairy Free Chocolate Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2010
I used ALMOND MILK - not soy milk - despite all the marketing claiming how much "healthier" soy is, actually it's harder on our digestive systems, plus almond milk TASTES BETTER than any alternative (unless you're allergic of course). it was awesome, my kids ate this all up!

All-Around Good Smoothie

Use MILLED flax seed or flax seed oil, your body can't process regular seeds all the way so you won't get all the nutrients that flax provides. Be sure to read the ingredients on the back of your protein powder. Some brands contain neurotoxins such as MSG and artificial sweeteners, and artery clogging hydrogenated oils... you can also use silken tofu in place, lower in calories and high in protein.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
Recipe is great as is! I didn't feel like messing with the icing so I put rainbow sprinkles on the surface prior to rolling. If you are a sweet tooth, you might prefer the cookie dough rolled in powdered sugar instead, but try the orginal method first, you might change your mind!

Honey Mustard Dressing II

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
Wow, so simple and delicious! If you don't like mayo you can also use sour cream or yogurt. If you don't have lemon juice you can use vinegar instead. My husband and I like it spicy so I added pepper on crushed red peppers. If I had wasabi on hand I probably would have used that. I didn't even follow the measurements, I just added the ingredients to taste.

Fresh Rhubarb Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
I decided to make this because it was my grandfather's favorite. There wasn't enough good rhubarb @ the grocery store so I mixed it with lite cherry pie filling. It was great, I think it would have been just as good without the cherries

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
My recommendation is to use the butter pie crust recipe on this site, it hasn't failed me yet! I used left over grilled chicken. For the soup mixture I didn't have chicken broth, so I used the leftover juices from heating up the chicken and veggies, melted butter, added some flour and milk to make a gravy. I added garlic salt, pepper and basil, then added a couple spoonfuls of sour cream. Everyone loved it.

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
great sauce! I added some salt. While I melted the butter, I sauteed some diced sweet onion, green and red bell peppers with dried basil before I added the cream cheese. I steamed some broccoli and tossed it with chicken and angel hair... awesome

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
I didn't have buttermilk, I put 1 tbsp of white vinegar, then poured the milk in to the "1 cup" line, & let it sit for about 5 min. I make these every Sunday, it is a recipe I use regularly and comes out perfect each time

Blueberry Cream Muffins

Reviewed: May 17, 2009
I'm giving this 5 stars because this is the best blueberry muffin I've ever had. There was something missing though that would have made it over the top, but I can't pin point what it was. Very good, thanks for sharing!!!

Turkey Pot Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2009
I made this with a butter pie crust recipe. I was so close to using cream of mushroom but DO NOT do this! Instead of milk I used 1/3 cu. of half & half - it turned out awesome. I didn't have potatoes or celery either... I just added one sweet onion, corn, peas and carrots and seasoned with celery seed. Great basic recipe! I will definitely make this again next winter :-)

Roasted Duck

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
Only giving this a 4 star because this is the first time I've tried duck. It was much greasier than I anticipated. I had made it for Thanksgiving last year to try something different but I think I'm going to stick to the turkey.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
I made the changes as some reviewers suggested. I used 1 can on chicken broth, instead of water, and I also added 2 cans of cream of chicken, added a little milk sour cream, and flour. Garlic salt and pepper to taste. I added the chicken even thought it was frozen a bit. When I added the dumplings, I made the biscuit dough myself then tore it into the soup, removed the crock pot, & put it in the oven @ 400 degrees for 35 minutes. Recommend using frozen peas, carrots, and corn instead of canned veggies, and add them just before putting pot in oven. It came out perfect. Everyone loved it
