The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2008
I added extra sugar and vanilla as suggested, but these were still very bland in my opinion. They tasted like the pillsbury already made mix (which is very bland, so that's why I tried this recipe). They also spread quite a bit, which is unusual for sugar cookies. I would recommend using VERY small cookie cutters and making them really thin. Mine were average size and spread like crazy. I will continue to look for a good sugar cookie recipe.

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
I read a ton of the reviews and followed them to a tea, and this still did not set. I am so sad. I was planning on taking it to a friends this weekend and it is basically the consistency of icing. I boiled for over 5 minutes, etc., etc. It is really creamy, but TOO creamy. Oh well, different recipe next time!

Vodka Soup with Mushrooms

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2008
I was a little hesitant to try this recipe, but I am glad I did. If you wonder what this will taste like, just imagine a VERY creamy tomato soup. I worked at a restaurant called Silver Spoon and this is identical to their creamy tomato soup. It is supereasy and tastes decadent. Next time I am entertaining I am going to add this (let them think I slaved over the soup)! I did add extra diced tomatoes, but other than that I did not change a thing. YUMMY!!

Honey-Dijon Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2007
I made this for my husband, and he told me it made him believe I could actually cook! It gave the chicken a great flavor, not too mustardy or sweet, just right. The only complaint is that there is no "sauce" to go over the chicken or vegetables you might have. If you want to have a sauce, you probably need to make it seperate, or add some flour or cornstarch to the watery mixture after it comes out of the oven. If you just want some flavorful chicken though, this is a great recipe!!

Chocolate Layered Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2006
So easy, and everyone LOVED it. I made it for Thanksgiving for my husband's family, and they never eat dessert. I did not have any left! I liked the pecan crust, but honestly I think an oreo or graham cracker crust would be really good also, especially if you want to save some prep time. Great recipe!

Basil Pesto Bread Rounds

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2006
I would have given 5 stars, but the broiler time needs to be closer to 2-3 minutes, not 5-8. I happened to check the bread at 3 minutes, and it was already starting to burn. Otherwise, great recipe. I put a sliced roma tomato on part of them, and it was delicious. I will add it to the mix next time.

Creamy Cheddar Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2006
I followed the others advice and did not blend the soup, and used velveeta, and it turned out great. It is a little thin at first, but thickens the longer you let simmer. I put it in a rye bread bowl, yummy!!

Lemon Icebox Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2005
I was hesitant to make this since everyone seemed to "tweak" the recipe. I made it EXACTLY like it said on the recipe, and the meringue would not stiffen, and the pie was VERY tart! I served it to my family which consists of a chef, and I was so embarrassed. I did not even want to serve it after seeing it come out of the broiler with hardly any meringue, but my husband insisted. I wish people would rate the recipes according to the recipe, not what they did to make it better. It makes it very confusing for the amateur cooks.

Cherry Cheese Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2005
My aunt makes this every year at Thanksgiving, and it is the first thing gone. I thought she spent hours making it, and when she gave me the recipe I was shocked! It is a family favorite, we call it "cherry delight". It is my all-time favorite dessert, so much creamier than cheesecake, and so easy!

Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2005
This recipe is great. The cookies stay moist for days after, and they are addictive. I used PAM non-stick flour spray for baking, and they did not stick at all. I agree with the other reviewers to let them cool completely, preferably in the refrigerator, before slicing. Easy recipe, sure to impress!!

Marbled New York-Style Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2005
Using 4 packages of cream cheese was a chore in itself, trying to get all the lumps out, but finally did. I put it in a water bath, cooked according to directions, did everything right. When I took it out of the springform pan it had fallen on one side, the coloring was strange, and it was BLAND! There was NO FLAVOR. I had made this for my husband's family, and was trying to impress them. My brother-in-law who can eat a whole cheesecake only ate half the piece. I knew then I would never make this again. Too much work for so little. Don't waste your time with this one!

Chocolate Chip Cheesecake I

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2005
This is a very creamy, thick, and delicious cheesecake. This was my first attempt EVER at making cheesecake, and I was so happy with the results. Everyone was really impressed! The only suggestion I would make is to add more butter to the crust. It did not want to go up the sides and was really crumbly. I did put a pan of water in the lower rack when baking also, and no cracks appeared. I followed the directions exactly. Thanks for the wonderful cheesecake recipe!! I will use it often!
