Cream of Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2010
I thought it was pretty good. Not the best soup i have ever made as i think it is a little rich and cannot imagine eating it more than one or two times, but did hit the spot. I just used the recipe as a guide. I melted about 1 tablespoon butter and about 1/4 cup brown sugar. Added 2 cans veg. broth. 2 cans water. 1 huge can pumpkin puree. Added cinnemon. Let cook for about 10 min. Then, added 2 cups cream. Pretty yummy. My kids ate it and are pretty picky usually, so that was a plus. super easy and tasted like fall!

Frosting Made Easy

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2008
Well, it is easy - i'll give it that. However, I really do not care for this frosting at all. I did listen to the advice to let it blend for 15 minutes first, but it still tastes aweful and I'm pretty sure that I did everything correctly - it would be hard not to. I just abhor the taste of shortening and this tastes like crisco mixed with sugar. Sorry, but no thanks. I looked at some other recipes in an effort to fix this. I added one egg white and another 1/2 cup butter. It tastes a lot better and the butter seems to have gotten rid of the shortening taste. it will do.

Hot Crab Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2007
Yum-o! I was craving crab dip like I used to order for corporate events that this local upscale catering company makes. Oh, this recipe tastes just like it and was oh so very tasty. I was practicing for a party I'm throwing and certain there won't be one little crabby left in the bowl once I bring this out:). Thanks! Oh, the only changes that I made was to throw in some minced garlic - about 2 cloves and about 1/4 C finely chopped red onion (all I had).

Ranch Bean Dip

Reviewed: May 27, 2007
I made this dip in just a few minutes with items already in my cupboard/fridge. It was so easy! I made it as is except only half the ranch because was all i had was one small packet, and being a spice lover, then added some tomato salsa (with onion and cilantro)and some hot sauce. My husband liked it! So, I know it will be gone shortly:). I will def. make it again and may try adding some taco seasoning as well.

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2005
This recipe is amazing, healthy and easy to make! Thanks for sharing it. I fell in love with Tomato Basil soup at a resturaunt when I lived in Dallas. Since moving, the closest resturant (same as one in Dallas) with my "favorite" recipe is in DC. They sell the soup to go, and I would always buy 2-3 quarts of it when I was up there. Well, this recipe even beats that one, and I can make it myself. No more waiting until I was out of town for this! Fantastic!
