Snowballs

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2007
I lost my recipe for Snowballs, which I make every year for Christmas, and while these were not as good as the ones I've made in the past, they are pretty good! I would suggest making them smaller rather than larger in size, they are not as doughy this way and you get more icing sugar per mouthful of cookie this way: definitley delicious. Also, as some of the users have said in the other reviews, rolling them (or as I did, filling a bowl with icing sugar and shaking the cookies in the bowl for a less dense coating) in the icing sugar while hot, then letting them cool and sifting new icing sugar over them makes them taste soooo good!

Lana's Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2007
I thought this recipe was really easy and quick to make, and tasted great as well. One suggestion I would make is to add less ground ginger: 3 tbsp is a bit too strong for my taste, it left a kind of spicy, weird after taste.

Simple Scones

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2007
I had a craving for hot scones with butter and jam, so I whipped these up one rainy afternoon, and my sister and I shared them over cups of tea. Delicious! Also, they were extremely easy to make... took about 20 minutes prep time, 15 minutes bake time and we were eating them within the hour! Instead of making them triangular shaped, I took round cookie cutters and cut them into circles... looks very pretty and they can fit into the toaster once they get cold and need a heating up! One tip I do have is make sure you get them out of the oven in time: I left mine in a little too long... they were golden brown, but a little crispier than I like.

Broiled Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2006
I felt this recipe was o.k... It tasted a bit too ketchuppy, so i would reduce the amount of ketchup added. Also, I might add a bit more chili powder. I did this in a casserole dish in the oven under aluminum foil and it turned out fine.

Butter Icing for Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2005
Extremely yummy! I made these for decorating a batch of Christmas sugar cookies and my friend and I who were decorating couldnt stop eating the icing straight from the icing press! It dries sort of brittle and the colors arent as vivid as say, royal icing ( sort of matte), but the taste makes up for it!

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2005
This recipe is the ultimate chocolate chip recipe! It's better than your average bakery cookie and it completely satisfies a craving for chocolate with it's enormous amount of chocolate chips. Usually when I make this I make a double batch, which makes up to 4 dozen or even more! This is my ulitmate favourite recipe!

Connie's Zucchini "Crab" Cakes

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2005
I made this dish last night and it was terrific! I didnt have the Old Bay Seasoning, but I looked it up and found the recipe: (1tbsp celery seeds, 1 tbsp black peppercorns, 6 bay leaves, 1/2 tsp cardamoms, 1/2 tsp mustard seeds, 4 cloves, 1 tsp Paprika, 1/4 tsp mace.) From the suggestions of other reveiwers, i squeezed the liquid out of the grated zucchini in a cloth over the sink. I fried the patties in olive oil and it was very very good. I would definitley make this again!
