Best Lemonade Ever

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2008
So good and so easy! I prefer my lemonade tart, so I cut the sugar down to 1 1/4 cup. Thanks for the keeper!

Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2007
Very good. I added alot more garlic and parmesan cheese because my husband and I like to "load" up our potatoes. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

Apple Butter Pork Loin

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2007
This was really good! The only changes I made were that I used an apple green tea beverage (which is half apple juice) in place of the apple juice because I already had it and I made a second batch of the sauce after I tasted it. It was nice to have on hand when we reheated the leftovers the next day. Didn't need it really, but it was so good! Oh, I should mention that I marinated my two tenderloins in a brown sugar, apple butter and apple green tea mixture for 7 1/2 hours before cooking them as directed. Delicious! Easy and flavorful. Makes the house smell of autumn and holiday spices. I will be making this again... and definitely for guests. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe.

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2006
This is THE BEST!!! The first time I made this I cut it in half and used only one stick of butter, microwave popcorn and shook it in brown paper grocery bags as someone else stated in their review. Was so much better the second time! The second time I made the recipe as it's written and put pecans in with it while in the oven. Totally awesome and extremely addicting.

Sour Cream Pudding Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2006
This pie was ok. I used cherry pie filling and cheesecake flavored pudding. I'd prefer cream cheese to the sour cream. Will try a different recipe, however this is a good alternative if you don't have sweetened condensed milk like I was missing.

Judy's Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2006
This is one of my favorite recipes from this site! I've made it with two reduced fat cream chease, two regular and one regular, one reduced fat. I have not tried fat free. I use FRESH strawberries as I don't think frozen taste or look as good. I make the gelatin first and let it set a bit and pour that over the cold cream cheese mixture. I use butter flavored pretzels. Also you can use reduced fat whipped topping or fat free. Great dish that everyone has loved. I have to try not to eat all of it if it's sitting in my frig!! It is truly hard, I love, love, LOV"E IT!!

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: May 29, 2006
This was pretty good. I'm a beginner cook, and added a whole stick of butter which is double the amount it's supposed to have (OOPS!!) so I ended up having to put in more wine, a can of cream of mushroom soup in addition to the golden mushroom soup, and 8 oz. of the cream cheese with chives. So essentially I doubled the sauce, which was needed. I couldn't imagine making this dish without doubling the amount of sauce. I used linguine noodles. I sauteed the chicken that I cut up in pieces (in a frying pan on stovetop) in olive oil to brown them. I added chopped fresh garlic to the butter before adding the rest of the ingredients for the sauce. Overall this turned out pretty tasty even with my goof with too much butter (I spooned most of it out when it settled on the top.) I don't know if I'll ever be a great cook but this website really helps me out. Thanks for the recipe Marian!

Best Ever Corn Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2006
Very good recipe, Kelly! I altered it a little. I added an extra 1/4 cup of cornmeal to make it have more corn taste and used 3/4 cup of milk instead of 2/3. I wouldn't change the amount of vanilla or sugar. Next time I will make it exactly how it's supposed to be made. And believe me, there will be a next time!!

Basic Crepes

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2006
Well I'm not the worst cook, and definitely not the best, but I made some great crepes today from this recipe! I usually look at the reviews of a recipe I get from this site. Specifically the most helpful reviews. I did as I read others did and used 1 Tablespoon of sugar, added 1 Tablespoon of vanilla, then added some cinnamon (I just sprinkled it in the batter and then did the same with my jar of nutmeg.) I tossed a bit of milk into the batter to thin it as it looked a bit like pancake batter. I used fresh strawberries that I cut up and tossed with a little powdered sugar for the filling. I used a non-stick frying pan and used butter flavored cooking spray too. I filled them with the strawberries, rolled and sprinkled the tops with powdered sugar, used some pancake syrup. They were easy to make. They were so good I made them twice today for myself. The extra batter that I put in the frig after making them the first time didn't even have a chance ;)

Chocolate Pretzels

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2005
These were okay. Yes, like other members stated, the kisses retain their shape. I used the round waffle pretzels and regular chocolate Kisses and the striped Hugs with red and green M&M'S. The hugs looked nicer. My problem with this recipe is that I would prefer a better ratio of chocolate-to-pretzel. My husband and I agree that it's a good idea but if I made them again I'd not use M&M'S and maybe just take another pretzel and make a sandwich. They look cute, but taste- wise I'd modify the recipe. I made small twist pretzels dipped and drizzled in different chocolates and some were sprinkled with Christmas sprinkles. I made these right after this recipe and I'd rather take the effort to make the twists. If I had children I'd make this recipe again as-is, though. Thanks You for it, though. I'm newly married and trying to improve my cooking skills. Practice makes me... better!
