About this Cook
Married MOM with a 4 year-old son, a 2 year old daughter, and a nine year old step daughter. Part time X-ray Technologist and LOVE to play in the kitchen. Sometimes my creations turn out good... sometimes they don't! But its fun learning as I go, and feels good when it goes well. Cooking and baking seems to relax me and my husband always appreciates the results.
My favorite things to cook
Dinner is a favorite... I'm always looking for something new to try. Also baking is becoming more and more fun as I get better at it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Family Cheese Ball. Passed to me by my mother and grandmother... Its just not Christmas without it. When I take it to a pot luck or gathering, I never leave without at least one request for the recipe.
My cooking triumphs
I'm not so sure anything I've made could be called a triumph... I'm just enjoying exploring the world of cooking.
My cooking tragedies
Rice!! No matter how many times I make rice it flops. Minute rice, brown rice you name it... I flop it! Crunchy one time mushy the next. Its not rocket science you'd think I'd get it.(With practice my rice is starting to taste kinda sorta ok... but its just not perfect yet!)

Buttercream Icing
This icing has the perfect texture to work on a cake with, nice and soft... and the good part is it stays soft even after a night in the frig. It is a tad sweet though, nothing a glass of milk doesn't fix.

Big Guy Strawberry Pie
This was easy and I especially liked the crust. I was unsure about the jelly part but it works and tastes good.

Broccoli Potato Soup
I'm not really sure how to rate this recipe because I ended up making alot of changes... as is it would have been rather bland for our family. I used two cans of potato soup, added four diced cooked potatos, added diced ham, onion powder, and a bit of chicken bouillon. I blend my youngest's serving to hide the veggies from her and my hubby said next time blend it all, he tought hers tasted even better! So excellent base recipe, easy to make and easy to play with to make it work for you!
