Fresh Cherry Cobbler

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2011
This is 5 star! I added sliced apples, cinnamon and vanilla as suggested by other reviews, increased all ingredients by one half to make up for the added apples, and left out all sugar (my hubs is trying to avoid sugar.) It turned out amazing, reminds me of "french toast" consistency, although it is definitely better with a tsp of brown sugar added to each serving. We decided to try adding some brown sugar over the top near the end of cooking time next time- WILL make this again!

Lentil Soup IV

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2010
Not a bad soup- I diced instead of grating the onion, and added a can of diced tomoatoes as I didn't have any fresh. I also added seasonings and a teaspoon of beef boullion. My husband suggests adding meat as well, although that would make it not a vegetarian's choice. Not too bad, but I wasn't impressed enough to make it again.

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Awesome! I halve the recipe as I only make the one chicken, and I also push pats of butter under the skin before cooking. Turns out fantastic every time! Thank you Sue!!

Egg and Cornbread Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
I liked this- had to make a few changes as I didn't have any celery or cheddar cheese. I used leftover cornbread, and only added about a Tblsp of chicken broth as the cornbread was already moist. Used TurkeyHam, and laid some slices of swiss cheese across the top. I also scrambled the eggs and poured them over the whole thing; it turned out "quiche-like," with cornbread chunks. I thought it turned out yummy, my husband thought it would taste better with the original stuffing ingredients, as the cornbread made it taste too sweet. I gave it 4 stars and I'll probably make this again for just me or for a potluck, but not for a family meal.

Tomato Basil Salmon

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2009
Very tasty. I'll definitely be making this again, however, I'll add more seasonings to the actual fish fillets. ("Marinating" the fish with the seasonings would help too, I ran out of time.) I used the minced fresh garlic as suggested by others - really good. Thanks for sharing - it's really good!

Shrimp Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
I had to make a few substitutions/omissions as I did not have bean sprouts, ginger, or green onions, but I'm definitely going to make it again with all the listed ingredients- it was really good! I added corn, peas, and shelled edamame (frozen, I just tossed them in there with the shrimp and heated a little longer.) I tossed some chives on the top for garninsh and voila! Love it! Thanks for sharing!

Turkey Tetrazzini II

Very good recipe- my fiance's mom used to make this, so I was following up the best, and totally came through!! I would add some onion and garlic next time, as others suggested- I thought it needed just a tad more flavor. Thanks for sharing!!

Good Dog Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2008
These were good, I made them for a holiday present for my sister's dog- who by all accounts, scarfed them up! I tried them too- a little bland for my taste, and I didn't get a "meaty" flavor or smell from them, like you would think would appeal to a dog, but she liked them!

Creamy Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2008
I made this for a family get-together and there was almost a fight for the last piece! (My uncle and his father both love blueberries!) Made it just as the recipe states, although I did add some cinnamon to the sour cream mixture and the topping. I might experiment with cutting back the sugar for future tries, but it tasted great to me. FYI- I used the deep-dish pie crust, and two containers of blueberries fit perfectly.

The Best Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2007
I liked these. I thought the sauce was a little too thin, so I added some cornstarch, which still didn't quite get to my idea of "saucy," it was more "brothy." I liked the taste though, and the next day ate the leftovers with rice- definitely better overnight. Thanks!

White Chili II

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2006
Absolutely great! I decrease the beans to 3 cans and add 2 cans white kernal corn. I also shred the chicken- more time, but worth it! My fiance loves this. It is five stars each time I make it.
