Wacky Cake VIII

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2012
I was skeptical about a cake with vinegar, but it works! Good and surprisingly moist without eggs or milk. I did follow other reviewers and use some coffee for the water, about 50/50 ratio. It really is a great size for our smaller family. I did not have to bake it as long as the recipe said, only about 25 min. Thanks.

Christmas Eve Beef Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
Real good stew recipe. I was wondering what the tapioca would do to stew.. but really it just made the broth a bit thicker. I did add about 1 cup of corn to the recipe. Thanks for the recipe!

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
How EASY! This turns out a super moist turkey breast! I did thicken the 'drippings' into a turkey onion gravy. Makes my mouth water to even type this out. This is now the only turkey breast recipe I will ever make! Thanks Ms_Sally for the recipe!

Nutty Caramel Clusters

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
WOW! These are really good. The hardest part is opening all the caramels! I followed others advice and dipped the whole candy into the chocolate. It reminds me of a turtle type candy. Thanks for a new candy to make for the holiday season.

YUMMY! Great recipe. I did use one cup of brown sugar in place of one white sugar. Mine was darker than the one pictured. Thanks for the recipe Terri.

Lemon Delight

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
Yum! This is a moist cake. I really could not taste the oranges, just the lemon and the pineapple. The frosting at first tasted a bit grainy, but I just kept mixing it and it was better. I did add toasted coconut on top. Thank you for the refreshing dessert.

Easy, moist, rich and buttery tastin. How can you go wrong with brown sugar and cinnamon. I used a 9x13 pan and it came out perfect. Smelled great while baking.

Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2010
Using the butter flavored Crisco makes all the difference in these cookies. They have a crunchy edge and a tender, gooey center. SUPERB! Like others have stated, make sure you have plenty of milk. Ours only made 2.5 dozen using a medium cookie scoop.

Chocolate Snack Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2010
I made this cake as a quick dessert. It was good, but needed the extra sweetness of frosting. Also, the boiling water cooked part of my egg and made little pieces of egg in my cake. I would suggest after melting your butter in the water, letting the mixture cool. It was a good cake and my family liked it, however, it could have been better.

Baked Oatmeal II

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2010
This was my first time making baked oatmeal. Some reviews said it was like oatmeal squares and others said it was not. So I figured it would be a bit creamy, but crunchy on the edges. It is more like a soft baked cookie when it comes out of the oven. It was okay if you poured milk over it. I guess I am just more used to regular oats, made on the stove top.

So EASY! I did use canned potatoes as others suggested. I did not use water, just substituted beef broth. Added a bit of garlic and Lawry’s season salt. Very filling and easy on the pocketbook. Thanks!
