Mocha Cake I

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2000
This is THE BEST CAKE ! I made it for a baby shower(shaped & decorated like a bib) and added a chocolate mousse filing between the layers...chocolate heaven! I got so many compliments, everyone said it was the best choc. cake they had ever eaten and wanted to order one! I think I'm now in the cake business. The only substitution I made was 1 cup of hot strong coffee for the liquer and I melted the choc. chips with it. The recipe was perfect for a 12 inch round cake pan to, then I just made 2 batches to layer it. Tres Magnifique !

Tuscan Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2002
This is fantastic soup! Whole family loved it, even spinach haters! I would suggest rinsing the sausage though as I had a half inch build-up of oil on the top. **Update** This has become a staple in my house...especially during the winter season. I found out what was causing my oil problem, it was the chicken broth (college Inn), I have switched to Swanson 99% fat free and I have no oil build up and it tastes better...I just drain the sausage-don't rinse. I also substitute sweet italian sausage (more flavor) and I use heavy cream instead of evaporated milk. This version is to die for! Spicy was good but couldn't enjoy it being that hot! Thanks again for the recipe, I just made a pot and am getting ready to enjoy!

Luscious Slush Punch

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2003
Very good punch! The first time I made punch and I actually ran out (even though 1 batch made 2 bowl fulls)! My ratio was 1 bottle of soda though for each portion, to keep the flavor from being to weak. So I used this recipe with 2 bottles of soda.

Excellent apple pie! I added the mixture to the apples and then added the top crust. I then brushed on an egg wash for a beautiful crust. So wonderful thank you Grandma Ople!!!

Judy's Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: May 29, 2005
Very tasty! I was unsure about this recipe but tried it anyway. This is so delicious! My husband said this is his hands down favorite dessert! I might mess around with the Jello topping, maybe try a typical cheescake topping, even though my husband says don't change a thing. I'm personally not to fond of Jello, but the pretzel crust is amazing...so good, but just crumble the pretzels nut totally crush.

Asiago Dip with Crostini

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2005
Wow! I can't say enough good things about this dip. It is fabulous, I have already made it 3x in a week. My husband goes nuts over it. In fact I am making it again today for the Red Sox game (GO SOX!). I even added a little minced garlic and more cheese and smothered it on top of chicken breasts then added sauteed mushrooms and broiled them until nice and bubbly...it was so good. I have never even added the sun-dried tomatoes or the low-fat/light, I have just used regular/whole ingredients. It is a great compliment to bruschetta also. This is a keeper!

This was THE best lasagna ever! I don't know why but it is! So glad I made it. My usual meat'lovin hubbie said it was the best lasagna he ever ate. This will be a staple...so easy and no need to pre-cook the noodles. I will be making this again this weekend for a party! Thanks for sharing.

Simple great cake, did use 3/4 c milk like others suggested. Was actually better than white cake recipes that were way more involved! also you don't have to seperate the egg whites!

Fry Bread Tacos II

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2002
This review is for the fry bread portion: Oh my this recipe is soooo good! This tastes like the "chalupa bread" from Taco Bell only BETTER!! Taco's never tasted so good! No more hard shell or flour tortillas for our family. Once you try these you will never go back. They are easy, tasty and so chewy (I could go on & on!). I made these 2 days ago and used the bread like regular tacos(they fold in half nicely after they cool)and filled with regular taco meat and toppings. Well, my husband already asked me when I was going to make them again! So we are having then again tomorrow! P.S. If you have any fry bread leftover try them with ice cream (unbelievable).
